I've been out of the loop for a while on the 2nd gen trucks. Looks like everyone is going to the smarty on the 3rd gens. Hows it doing on the 2nd gen trucks? I have a customer wanting to try it on a 2002 6 speed truck. What are the power levels for the 2nd gen smarty? Same as the 3rd gen?

The power levels are not the same as the 3rd gen trucks. As I see it the Smarty is an addition to a stock truck for a pick-up or mileage, an addition for injectors (like where an EZ would be used) or as a stack with the TST, COMP, Juice, etc.

The numbers on the stacks for the most part are yet to be completely explored other than SOP. Early fueling is where the Smarty really shines.

The TST, Comp/Juice w/ attitude, redline (for the big $$$) are the fueling boxes of choice for a base as far as fueling goes.

That is what I gather from the recent discussions.

2nd Gen Smarty numbers are comparable to other non-wire tap power adders... Smarty shines in the low end but with my DD3's, it pulls exceptionally hard in the mid range all the way past 3000 RPM... It is supposed to stack well with other electronic power adders...

So I'd better of with the Comp for all around performance with no other power adders? Haven't tried the Juice on the 2nd gens either. Is it about like the Comp with the addition of the attitude monitor?

Yes the Juice is a Comp with the attitude monitor.

The chioce for upgrades is endless. The Smarty does add some power and changes the fueling. If your customer is just looking for 40 hp and a better low end the Smarty is perfect. If you want big power then you have to add a fueling box with it. If the truck is a daily driver and not used for towing a set of big injectors and the Smarty is quite nice.

I used to have DD3's and an Edge Drag comp. I drove daily with the comp set on 4x4 and had gobs of power. I now have Mach 4's and the smarty and I don't turn the comp on much. If I do I use it for low end smoke control (1x1 setting). The smarty will work best with a fuel only box (TST), that way it can do the timing and some fueling.

Email Bob Wagner and see if someone around your area has a Smarty you can borrow. The only true way to know about it is to play with it. I was not sure it could deliver but I tell you now that it made the bottom end on my truck way better and it made the top end insane.
