Well I tried SW#1,default settings and was totally unimpressed. I am thinking we were sent a placibo with the same programs as before with unexplained adjustable limits. ***

Appearantly you are just as disappointed as I would be if anything had changed from the old program. If it had acted any differently on default settings, I would have been thinking that I/we got the short end of the stick.

So sorry you feel that isn't what you needed.

No complaints, its Just the way I word things, even in person. I tell it the way I see it, Life is too busy for round about talk and whatifs.

I am doing what BETA is meant to do

share my experiences and results with my rigs set up.

Not knocking it just sharing my thoughts.

Bob and Marco have helped me out before and are good at backing up the product. But not all products work with every setup.

I do not see to many others running it with HRVP44's and I am thinking it hurts me from getting the full benefit from the smarty now. It worked better for me with the stock injection pump.

Like everyone here and on other boards, Would like to know about the subsettings. If they would give us some insight to this it would help out a lot.

I'm running it on an HRVP44 with Mach 5's, BD Twins, TSTCE, etc...

The setting I'm currently running is 'soft' catcher(SW#4 or #5), Timing on #4 and Duration on #3... I think that's a bit much timing for my truck... noticeably more timing rattle on #4 than on #2. I think the new softwares have more pop on the top end than original softwares did. I've run SW#6, timing on #3 and duration on #5 and it killed my top end... dropped the duration to #3 and it ran much better... I will be trying timing on #3 next week.

I rarely use the TST... only on rare occassions.

I'm running mine with a HRVP44 & it works fine for me. Some how I got out of "the loop" & missed the updates. I PM'd Bob about that & he asked if I wanted to try the BETA. I said sure. That was about 2 weeks ago & I haven't heard back form him.

I just got the software today, and I do like it. I only had a chance to test on SW9 with the timing, duration, and torque all the way up. It spools better and smokes like a train when the Edge is on 5x5.

I've concluded the timing on #4 is simply too much timing for my setup... I just don't like the valvetrain rattle it produces. Will be loading up timing on #3 as soon as I go move the truck.

Richard, I NEED AN EMAIL ADDRESS..... AS STATED:eek:

my 2 cents

I have already posted on the upper SW# and now I have tried the lower 1,2,3 sw. sw 1 has the same feel, and I still get the same lope lope feel and sound with using the clutch(mainly on take off from stop. ) smoke was the same didnt feel different. I varied the setting on timing and duration didnt feel much diff. on SW. 3 the truck is really touchy throttle very responsive almost to responsive for me. it is more touchy the sub settings I didnt get much of a diff feel just I had alot of timing rattle with timing up. my truck generally doesnt like alot of timing. so now I really dont know what I want the new beta software has some great stuff and some stuff that I wont use due to to much timing for me or some of the touchy peddle feel. I wont bash it. most of my testing so far with the beta has been with my TST off.

this next week I will be traveling on the freeway for about 400 miles I will try the SW 1 again compared to Sw 3 and SW 9 and try to fiqure if I get any economy out of them. can someone explain the duration and what this actually does. which setting for economy if someone else has found a good one with new beta.

Sw#1 Fuel Mpg Update

I just got back from a 400 mile trip unloaded. the trip was manly I-5 to vancouver Wa. and back with about 50 miles of city downtown driving. I tried sw 1 tq6 timing2,and duration 2 I had a gps with me due to the smarty setting is off. I have 3. 54 gears and 35 inch tires the smarty setting that was the closest to 65mph was 34. 00 inch setting. from top off to top off I averaged 19. 8 mpg. I probley could of gotten better with no city driving and possible if I went up to 1800 rpms. at 65mph im at 1650 rpms this is the same trip I usually take. before when I had 33inch tires I would get 19-20 on old smarty software. now with beta software and 35 inch tires Im back up to the 19-20 mpg next trip I will try and adjust the timing and duration and see if I can squeeze out some more. so the fuel saver setting worked for me. not bad considering the truck is lifted and the tires.

Better milage with REVO

I did 540KMS of towing this weekend using SW1 - TQ2 - timing 2 _ duration 2 and my milage went up from 13MPG to 14MPG. I travel the same speed on the same roads so the only variable is wind and I"ve never gotten this much!

I also prefer the throttle response as it is softer and smoother than before. Smoke is also more manageable.

I'm glad us old VP equipped trucks now have tunability, I've been waiting a long time! Way to go Marco:D
