I need serious help. I had the normal lift pump failure, followed by the VP44 failure. After the replacements, I still have a smoking issue (which I've taken back into the dealer many times, and they find nothing wrong). I'm hoping someone else has either had this problem before or knows what is causing this. In 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear at 2000rpm, i get huge white smoke and the engine studders as if it was flooded. Let off the throttle or step on it (changing the rpm) and it clears and runs fine. It does the same thing in 4th or 5th gear, but it happens at a higher rpm (2200-2500) and doesn't smoke as bad. ANYONE?
