What I call a camp road is alot rougher and has alot of pit run gravel in it (think fist size rocks). The ones I do were mostly made by an excavator digging up the sides of the trail to make a raised portion in the middle for the road. Lots of bumps, ruts, rocks, dips, and uneven surfaces to contend with. Not to mention that if you go off the side of the road you are stuck, and it's easy to do when the road is only 9ft wide in some areas and there is a slippery, icy base to it. After awhile though some snow gets packed down and the road smoothes out alot and things get much easier. You just need to be careful until that happens, or you will be tripping the plow alot.

I guess I live on a camp road. :p Up here thay call 'em Seasonal Roads. In the winter, you're on your own. Summer maintenance is pretty minimal. We went without any help for a couple years and then had a rain that washed out the hill near our driveway. I't a steep one-lane curved hill that had a knee-deep wash diagonally across it. My 03 would make it if I kept enough speed for when a tire was off the ground.

I went with a 8' 6" Western Plow. It was the largest plow any of the area dealers would install on my truck. Area dealers only would install the 7 1/2" fisher because of the weight. Most Plow websites ahve a plow selector feature. You will see that our trucks with the Hemi can get any plow they like, but if you put in the cummins on engine selection your limited to just 1 or 2 plows..... and usually the light duty models. The western I had installed is real nice though. It is a breeze to take on and off. The lights are excellent as well. Good luck.

Get a BOSS plow... you won't be disappointed. Easiest plow I've ever taken on or off a truck, mine's 2 years old
If you get a chance. . can you measure how far out your plow frame is from the bumper cover just below the grille?

I would like to know if my light bar is gonna fit in there:
