I was having a problem back about 2 or 3 weeks ago that was driving me nuts. .
My stereo system was craping out(not only a bomby but a eletronics freak to). And also my truck was having the spit and sputters to. . And at night my lights would go dimm...
So as soon as I could went to work tring to find the problem. .
After several attempts and cures, it was still there, but not always. .
So I poped the hood to do some electrical checks and guess what I find..... Corrision on the main battery post(positive side) and only where the harrness hooks up not on the post it self.....
So took all apart and cleaned and found arching spots all over the lugs...
Well enough said. Put all back to gether and problem is gone... .
Thought I'd give this info out. Because what little bit of corrision I did find(and hard to see)is enough to cause haveck. . In should know this, because I'm an electrical testing tech. anyways(dumd me)

Another electrical problem I've found a few times that is hard to diagnose is corrosion in a battery cable up inside the cable under the insulation, sometimes without a trace of corrosion on the ends of the cable. What will happen is when a large load is applied such as the starter or head lights the current will arc across the corroded part and temporarily 'weld' the cable back together until vibration breaks the connection again. I spent quite a few hours running down this problem till I knew to check for it.

I know what you mean by that. . I just could not even see this problem with my connections. .
My ride is a 97 and it only has 36000 miles on it I let it sit in my garage most of the time. . And it is hard to let your mind believe that something could go wrong with it sitting... So after simply looking around at it the problem shows its face. . wish this transmission ghost would leave my truck alone...
