well not me! anyway, had a 3rd gen truck come in the shop today, was busy workin on another truck, but they were still workin on it when i was leaving, went over and took a lookie to see what was goin on. talked to the tech, said had some bad engine noises, come to find out the oil filter had all kinds of metal in it, i had never seen a filter with soo many metal particle's in it :--) . anyway was looking the engine over, when i glanced a pre turbo pyrometer..... hmmmm suspicous looked a litte bit harder, hmm found some velcro tape on the fuse cover in the engine bay... . hmmmmm... looked at the air filter, noticed that the stock housing was not secured to the vehichle, as in it was just sitting in there loose... hmmmm..... looked inside the cab, no display or gauges, but found what looks like a wire harness bundled up under the steering wheel lower pannel... ... . hmmmmmmm... ... . looked at the exhaust, it was clean, but that little ridge under the rear quaterpannel was completely covered in black soot! hmmm. soo the owner had a box/chip on the truck and possibly a air intake and tried to cover thier tracks in order to get a new engine. as far as i know the engine is still under warranty, it's an 05' cause it has the plastic end tanks on the intercooler! i hope that this customer's intent is not to get a new engine under warranty, cause there is more than obvious signs of engine modifications. ohh well hope its nobody on here... ...
