Hotel Update

For those who dont have to stay at the Best Western . Through hotels . com, The Other Half got a room at the Super 8, king size bed, no smoking, for $45/ night plus tax, etc. Comes out to $100 +/- for Fri and Sat nites. I think there may be a pool, free breakfast, etc, too.

Dangit, I forgot to mention it IS in Kokomo (half hour from Jeremy's). It is right on the way for those of us from south of I-70 or east of the main drag through Peru/ Kokomo.



You're driving 600+ mi, what's another 75 or so for the round trips?

I have a new 366 spring, and the seal kit you mentioned, so I hope you could show me or help me install it. That is one of the things I wanted to learn about. The other is timing the pump. Hopefully I will learn about both.

I can bring some pictures of the RR, but it is in garage in a lot of pieces right now. I am converting it back into a drag car, got tired of car shows. It should be completed over the winter and be out in the spring. Maybe I could bring it next year.

When mine is complete it will be a 572" Hemi making about 950 hp. Should run about 9. 30's at close to 145 mph. Should be a lot of FUN!!!!

I'll have all the tools needed for a governor spring job, so if anyone wants one installed, I suggest getting the Bosch gasket/seal kit pn DGK-121 and the 366 spring itself, and maybe a can or two of starter fluid for cleaning things up.

Would I need a gasket kit if my VE has a fresh rebuild (<10K)? I'd like to swap in my 366 and/or kill a dowel pin (not a daniel puckett :-laf) but will settle for watching on someone else's. Oo.



Hope I can make it again. Will be coming back from CA and if the cows haven't torn anything up and the family will let me leave again maybe I can swing it. May bring my dad too (this is his sig) and possibly my bro who's putting a CTD in his Ramcharger.

You should be all set to do a 366 spring. You will need a front seal if you do the KDP (not "Kick Daniel Puckett" ) :-laf

Would I need a gasket kit if my VE has a fresh rebuild (<10K)?

I just won't be responsible for any leaks after spring R&R. The top cover, throttle shaft, fuel screw o-rings and fuel drain banjo bolt washers are bad about leaking after a gov spring job. You want the whole pump area clean enough to eat off of. I recommend an engine wash, then some Pyroil brand ether at the time of the job for cleaning.



Pete most Knights Inn's are not good. I got an extra tent for you and the wife, no charge!

Pete the last person I know that stayed there was my father a couple of decades ago. He told me then he should have stayed on my couch. He didn't give any other details. The place has had 3 different names sence then. So take your chances.



The knights inn I stayed at over in Ohio a couple of years ago wasn't that good.

Between Pete and myself, we can do timing, along with verifying TDC, or at least finding it and marking it on the balancer. How many want it done? I only have so much time, and I need to eat as well.



Daryl- we can get your spring in, too. Just dont complain about lower MPGs cause you can turn more RPM after that. :-laf



falthead6- You should be ok without the kit. Bill, I dont know how you got it all to leak. Was this all at once, or individually? I took a pump apart to fix a sticking guide pin, and put it all back together with the old seals, and it never leaked.
