Another newbe here! Have been "listening in" for a couple of weeks and am impressed with the depth and scope of the information available.

The dealer tells me that my 01 SLT+ HO/6 speed came off the assembly line three days ago. Needless to say the next three weeks (shipping time) or so are going to go sloooowww!

I will be pulling a 31 foot Alpenlite 5er and am looking for the best mail order source for a BD engine brake. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dea)

Dean; I too am waiting for my new RAM (ordered Dec 18) So far the dealer says that it is waiting for a carload west from St Louis (has been since Feb 5 or there-abouts. I have been spending a bunch of time on the web looking for the best buy on Exhaust Brakes and setteled on the BD. The best price I have found so far is at www.dieselpage.com and I have heard may good things about their service going the extra mile. Also have been told by members of TDR that the absolute best price for the BD brake would be at the DYNO days in Abbtsford in April. I hope to be able to pull my 31' Alpenlite there for the weekend of fun and shopping providing my new rig arrives in time. As of now, that future looks rather dim.

Lee, You're not too far away from Milton Freewater, you might want to check out www.wentlanddiesel.com. I just had them bomb my truck and install a BD brake. They definitely know what they are doing and gave me some great discounts.

Have you looked at the pacbrake? I think it connects right to your electronics like the factory one. I ordered my truck 1/17/01 and it was built 2/23/01, I am waiting too!

I am still trying to locate a BD dealer in Dallas. I have been given the name of 2 Diesel shops that install Ex. brakes, but they install the US Gear brake. They claim that it is better because it is installed inline on the exhaust pipe instead of attached to the Turbo. They say the BD and Pac brake causes increased heat on the turbo.

But I have read in other links that some have had problems with the US Gear brake. Anybody have other opinions or know who sells the BD in Dallas?
