Competition Pull/Threshermen's Jubilee

Competition A question for all that running a Scotty II with twins

A close friend of mine running 500+HP has been running a south bend dual disc clutch all season HARD and loves it. He's still going strong and says it even seems like it gets better.

The clutch I have been running is now gone and I am going to try one too. Has anyone else been running these, and if so how do you like it?

Thanks in advance,

Kent

My understandings are Piers is running one in his personal truck pushing 670hp with no problems.

Also Rick @ Dave's Diesel is running one in a truck that is making 760hp on drugs. Oh yeah Rick has 25(!!!) pulls on his and it still works great!

Both are STREET versions :--)

I know what I'm getting as soon as my income tax return comes in in Feburary!:D

Is your buddy running the Street or the Comp?

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaa Baby

I got one and love it... I'm still trying to break it for Peter...  If and when I do, I'm sure Peter will step-up the bar and put together something even better!!! In the past, Peter of South Bend Clutches has been busy developing affordable replacement clutches as our power increased... . This time, he said,"I'm not playing catch-up to you guys, you guys have got to catch-up to me"... Thus the birth of his twin disk clutches... :D :D   :)

I got a South Bend twin disc and I really like it. It is easier to press down than a stock clutch. It is holding my 613 right now and this Friday we will see how much more it will hold! I love my fourth gear shift when driving around town, it feels like the truck is going to hop over the front axle when I shift it hard. It is harder to make shifts with the twin disc or maybe it's the input shaft, but this clutch holds and that is all that matters.

To clear up some of the confusion, Rick's personal truck puts out about 760 with an automatic... The dodge with Peter's dual disc puts out around 550hp. Just to clear a few matters up.

Thanks again,

Kent

Sorry I was going by what Peter told me. I know he gets stuff confused sometimes.

But that doesn't explain why Rick told me that yesterday:confused:

.

I have been running the clutch all summer prolly 20 to 25 hooks on it. Took 6th in 8000 open in muncie, just took 4th at canfield all the rest were 2nd and one first and a fifth. Still works great, been coming out in 2nd high or fourth low no problem.

Well my clutch took a little more abuse this weekend. I got a little more pump work done to my truck, so we are hopig around 650hp, but i bought some 265s(i usuaully run 315s) just to screw around w/ and it is amazing. The truck chirps fourth gear whenever I want it to. A power shift will send the truck fishtailing at 50 mph!! This clutch is BAD!!!
