Transmission Upgrades?? with Smarty and Twins

Well i recieved the new revised flywheel and installed it right away. All i can say is wow ( :D ). Once again the install was a breeze with no issues what so ever. I fired the beast up and took her for a little ride. Did another launch and a few speed shifts. This clutch is what i call smoooooooooooth. No chatter or bucking at all. I cant say enough about how quiet it is and how soft the pedal feels compared to the old style d/d. This new clutch is a 12cb with a 3250 plate load diaphram style with strapped center plate. The pedal lets out higher than the old D/D but not a objectional by any means. It actully feels like a duel stage clutch as you let the pedal out. That makes for a really smooth take off. Peter did say that the price should be about the same as the original D/Ds. Peter also said that they should be ready to ship out after the first of the year about the middle of January. Once again i would like to thank Peter and the crew for another great product and always striving to be ontop with there products and service.

love to hear more good news.

i too agree that southbend clutch rocks. i know that peter has gone over and beyond what he should have for me.

Any ratings yet on torque/h. p. that it can handle? Will it be offered in different plate loads? Will this be equivalent to one of the street/comp versions that can be used for the drag strip as well as a few pulls? --Eric

I done dang told jall that Southbend rocks!.

That's great to hear news. I've been planning a D/D and transmission swap for some time. Quite happy that the DD clutch got upgraded before I got around to buying one. Sometimes it pays not to rush into things. :p

That is exactly what this clutch is for. It will hold around 650 RWHP

I agree that Peter and his crew are second to none when it comes to products and customer service. I have used his products on my own personal trucks and on some friends trucks. His prices may not always be the cheapest but they are always competetive and I an a firm beliver that you get what you pay for.

Just my . 02.

Peter has gone above and beyond the reasonable definition of "customer service" too many times to count... he has helped me out of a few real pickles, and I mean I was SUNK and he got me up and running ASAP!

I have NEVER seen a company stand behind their product the way SBC does... and as such, Peter's clutches are the only ones I will run

Brad, Peter, whats the weight of the sprung DD setup vs the unsprung flywheel? Just curious because it looks heavier but according to brad it shifts really fast? How would this compare to a street series DD?
