I know this may not be the right place to post this but I need a fast response.

I live in Ocala, FL and my best friend (also here) just bought an '03 2500 without a spare tire/wheel.

He has to make a trip to Tennessee next week to pick up his 2 grandsons (long story short they were taken from his daughter and son-in-law by DCF) to bring them back to Florida. He is leery of making the trip without a spare.

Does anyone have one he can borrow (265/70-17) or even buy for a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Moderators I understand if this is moved to a different place but I needed to get it visible fast.

XJ - Any nearby wreckers that can offer something?

In a pinch, I've found them to be the best source for problems like this, may have the correct rim and a tire from the salvage rack that could do it for you.

Just a thought,

We've hit all the yards that we know of in our area and no go. There's rarely anything that new and if there is it doesn't last long at all.

I just remembered from the time I purchased my truck, and almost took the truck off the lot before I noticed/checked.

When I did a chassis inspection at the dealer I noted that the spare tire was in its place and the air pressure was good, but later, just prior to leaving I looked under the rear seat and found that the jack and tools to lower the tire were missing.

Dealer wanted to sell me the equipment (ridiculous pricing I might add) and I simply said no, keep the truck. Ten minutes later I was on my way with both the truck and the tire tools.

A friend later told me that when he purchased his truck it did not come with the tire tools either and that most of them came that way.

Best check that the spare tire is not the only thing missing!

Try this place: Old South Auto Salvage in Lake Placid, Florida

Phone: 941-465-5810 or 800-393-1134

They usually keep newer vehicles and I've bought wheels from him before.

Saw this friday and had just joined. Couldn't post until today. I have a new tire and rim from an o4. 5 for free in Lake Placid.
