Truck was stolen and recovered. Took rolltop and tools and cleaned out under rear seat. One of the things taken was the spare tire removal kit to lower spare. All the kits that I can find don't list 2001 ram 2500. What is part number and where can I buy one. Even Mopar Direct doesn't have one listed for that year.

I made an adapter for mine with a 3" 7/16" bolt. The 5/8" head will fit the winch drive and with a double nut locked on the drive side, I drive it with a cordless drill. You do need a 6" extension to clear the tail gate. Or you could get an 8" bolt, then you wouldn't need an extension.

Thanks for info. I tried the bolt with 5/8 head but didn't go in far enough without the extension. Will work it tomorrow.

I've used a coupling nut (for threaded rod) for this kind of application. Screw in a long bolt to extend it and tack it with a welder.
