Does anyone know a place to find the adaptor that is between the transfer case and the speed sensor? Min when out about six months ago, finnaly got around to looking at it. Checked the speed sensor and it was ok, but no luck on the other part. Whent to the dealer this morning and orderad what they thought is the part for $120. We will see in a few days if it is the right part. Any one else have the same part failure?

Mine failed too, it was the square drive pin that fits into the speedometer pinion. The end of the drive pin that fits into the ratio adapter is a hexagon shape & the hex had rounded off, resulting in slippage. So I "J. B. Welded" it into the ratio adapter, haven't had any problems since 2000.

My sons 92 has the same problem, the dealer haveing problem finding right part number I think might try jb weld or epoxy.

I had the same issue. The part is a speedo gear ratio reducer adapter... ..... whew, that was a mouth full. Anyway, I ended up ordering one from the Dodge dealership for around $90. I installed it and had the pickup running perfect for the next 400 miles or so. Out of the blue, the problem came back again. I lost overdrive, speedometer, and cruise control. I ended up eliminating the new part and now have the VSS directly plugged into the transfer case. My overdrive now works, but shifts late. The speedometer now reads 10mph slower. I'm really stumped on why this problem came back again, especially since I checked and cleaned all the connections.
