Hello All.

My '01 still has no bedliner. Trouble is, I can't decide between Line-X, PermaTech and some local no-names.

I don't expect real heavy use, but I am concerned about fading and overall appearance.

Anyone have any testimonials?

Thanks.

David

Don't know bout the others but Perma-Tech is garenteed against UV fading in writing. Hence thats why I chose them. I color matched the truck and added mettalic flakes as well.

I used to have an ArmaCoat on my last truck. Liked it alot. I think the more important thing is the quality of the job. Not which company you use. Now if you want to have color matching and one brand wont do that, weed them out. If your left with 3-4 brands to choose from, see if you can find out who does the quality work.

I chose Line-X for mine. It has been on since 96 and no problems. It seems to be less slick than some other brands I have looked at. If it gets damaged they will fix at no charge. It has a smoother finish than some---Sam

Rhino Liner

I have had the Rhino Liner in my truck over a year now. Have had many things thrown in the back with no damage. Dirt bikes in and out with oils, fuel spills etc. Also has showed little signs of fade. Been exposed to harsh climate, 115' in desert and salt water weather at the beach. Well worth the money. It also depends on how well it is installed. Good luck. Dwayne:cool: :D :)

My Line-X works great. Thrown alot of rocks, dirt, and other nasties and it looks great.

Even better, squirt a little CASTROL SUPER CLEAN or SIMPLE GREEN on it and it looks just like the day they sprayed it on!

LineX

After comparing the top brands, I decided on Line-X for the following reasons.

1. It is sprayed on hot, and cures almost immediately (better for even coat and no time delay in when you can use/abuse it).

2. It has a lifetime warranty.

3. If you take a piece of Rhino lining and rub it against a piece of Line-X lining, the Line-X will sand the Rhino down (pretty good demo dealing with durability).

Just my $. 02 ..... ;)

You will be very happy with the Line-X, I have had mine for 3 years now and it still looks great.

Damoody is right the Simple Green trick works great.

David;

300 miles (mostly) north of you.

The local Line-X dealer went out of business. The product does not hold up well in the winter weather extreme. Not sure if that is quality of product or quality of applicator.

A local truck accessory shop installs Permatech and says it holds up well, especially in the winter/summer climatic changes.

The local Chevy dealer uses a thin product similar to HercuLiner, too. It must last cuz they still offer it.

I'm thinking of trying Herculiner. If I need to haul the rough stuff... Use the dump truck.

liners

I bought a half inch thick rubber mat and did the rest in Hurculiner roll on. Turned out great set me back 125 bucks (buy the liner in quart cans) total. I can haul engine blocks and after I roll them out you cannot tell they were there.

Are you going to be crawling into the back to get stuff? If so, it'll be your knees that the liner sands off. I went with a softer, thicker bedliner for that reason. I'm usually just hauling boards and plywood, occasionally a small load of bark or gravel. Seems to hold up just fine, and my knees don't get scraped up.

'Course, the rubber mat (horse stall mat) on top is a pretty good idea, too. :)

I've got the permatech.

I've got permatech sprayed in under the rails and really like it. Lifetime warranty and it doesn't fade. I have a friend who just bought a new bodystyle 1500 and he's going with the line-x as it's the only dealer close to him. He was told that he would have to apply a UV protectant every few years to keep it from fading. The Permatech has the UV protectant built in and mine looks new.

One warning though, one morning, there was dew on the tailgate and I went to jump off to load another dirt bike and I slipped and landed on the concrete below. It's pretty slippery stuff when it's wet.

I have the Linex bedliner also, have had it about a year and it has held up great. It still looks excellent and has not worn at all. Some of my friends have had the Linex applied to their toolboxes and grill guards, makes for a very nice look on the trucks.
