What are the pros and cons of using a weight-distributing type hitch with the spring bars or the trunnion bars?

I can't afford the Hensley arrow hitch, yet. I am purchasing a TT from a friend of mine Oo. . I will only be towing it 3-6 times a year, if that. The trailer is 28' with a weight of ~ 6240#. I know I'm within the GCWR etc... I am just not sure if I should get the 1200# Reese with the trunnion bars or the spring bars. I was also planning on getting the dual-cam sway control.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like my spring bar set up, would definitely get the set up with the sway control seeing as how you only have 2 wheels out back .

With a trailer that light, are the bars even needed??

I pull my Jeep and trailer, which weigh in just under 8500lbs without bars. I hardly notice the trailer other than I can stop better than with just the truck. haha.

I am not worried about the truck being able to pull it. I just have too much to lose in the event of an accident and the potential for litigation, law breaking,etc... I know I could get a class V hitch and be done with it, but if I am going to spend $300 why not spend ~$500 for a weight distributing system.

I have a 29 foot TT and use the Reese HI-Performance dual cam setup with 800# round bar. I have about 2200 miles on this set with no problems.
