Am interested in these hubs for my 2014 Ram 2500. Read the warning about the wheel center cap. My stock wheel caps are 4'' dia. but there is a ridge just inside the wheel for the cap to attach to. Have people been grinding that ridge down to the 4" dia.? That ridge looks "secondary" as far as strength to the wheel goes. But would this grinding not be advisable. Thanks. 2014 Ram 2500, 6.7, 4x4.

I've got the Spyntec hubs on my 2013. also have the aluminium wheels that have that small center cap I had to use a hole saw that was modified to not need a center pilot to open up the centers. It worked but I've since run into an issue when balancing the tires My center is not truly centered it can throw off the way the tire goes on the machine. I like the look but in hind site I would go with another type of wheel with a full open center.

Thanks for the pictures. Those are the same type wheels on my truck. In addition to getting rid of that inner ridge, it looks like you had to also enlarge the cap opening. Is that right? I thought the 4''+ main cap opening would allow the hub to get through. Now maybe not.

Has anybody tried the kits available from TheRamManInc.com. He says they will fit stock aluminum wheels for all years. I was checking into it for my 2016 2500 Big Horn 4X4.

Watched the ram man videos. I wonder if the factory bearings are rubber sealed or shielded? Rubber seal really can't be serviced but the shielded bearings have a metal "cap" that has small holes to let grease from the bearing cap work in while they are turning. These caps can be popped off on both sides or just one side for entry of grease when serviced. I've read that people have serviced their stock factory hubs with his adapter through the abs port but I don't see the grease getting with a rubber seal. Electric motors I've serviced always have had bearing failure with rubber seals from grease leaking out from thermal expansion like ramman said but unlike shielded bearings grease will not enter when trying to service them through zero fitting or port.

I am interested in this thread. I am getting a 3500 in Feb and would love to unlock the front wheels. Get 2W low and likely better mileage on the road and less wear in the front drive.

Wow just checked out the RamMan products. Looks like someone has adapted the Ford Hub asy to fit the Ram trucks. I always thought this would be a good Idea as the hub would be the same size as the stock unit. Which would open up wheel options. Only issue I see is the hubs would not be able to be rebuilt. The stock hubs on our trucks are not serviceable so No change there. I wish I knew of these hub kits back when I did the update on my 2013.

If getting 2 low is your only goal, see post #2 in this thread. It's much cheaper and easier.
With the hubs, don't count on a noticeable increase in mileage, as these trucks already have a central axle disconnect so it is not turning the entire diff and driveline while in 2 wd.
