Houston Meeting

SETDR - when/where?

David; The wife and I may just stay overnite. Are there some hotel/motels close that we might cosider staying at? The wife may not want to sit in the truck for 7 to 8 hours in one day. I posted on e-mail that I could bring some pork steaks if you wanted. Just let me know if you need anything.

I'll be there, just a little later. I have an appointment at 9:00am with a tax man, but its only about 35 minutes from Edwardsville, so I should be there around 11:30 or noon.

Kurt

David could you post some directions I have two people watching for them that may decide to show up, one from highland IL, and one from Peoria IL

Thanks. . Todd

I will post the directions as best I can for anyone wanting to come. This will be a one-way-for-all no matter which direction they are coming from because a lot of people will be coming from different directions.

Find your way to I-270 in Illinois. Take I-270 to the route 157 exit. This exit is about 14 miles from the Missouri side and 4 miles from merging from I-70 from the east side. Turn north and follow route 157 to the right up the hill and you will pass the Comfort Inn on the right. Follow this route until the second stop light. This stop light is Center Grove Road. Turn right onto Center Grove Road and follow until the second stop light. RIGHT PAST the second stop light (I am talking 100 feet or so) the entrance to the park is on the right. If you drive past the jet fighter on a stand you have gone too far and will have to turn around. Make a right into the park and then take the first left, then a right at the "t" and take the first left. Follow this to the last pavillion. The total driving distance inside the park is less than 1/4 mile. You cannot miss the truck or trucks already there. I have a 2500 std cab Intense Blue truck and will be there at 8:00am. If you have any problems finding the place then call 618-558-1081 if you can get to a phone. I will try my best to remember to bring my phone. At that time if you can tell me where you are I will try to guide you. See all of you on the 17th!

David

just wanted to get us back up to the top

BTW I hear its gonna get cold towards the end of the week just means we'll have to build a bigger fire in the BBQ huh!

Todd, I was wondering if we were going to have to build a bonfire as the weather report was for colder temperatures. As I was watching the forcast tonight it seems as though we are not going to know for sure what the temperature is going to be until we experience them. The forecast is for slightly warmer temps and less wind speed. Go figure! The forecast changes two or three times a day. It doesn't matter what the temp or wind is, we will have a good time anyway! If all fails we can all go to my house and hold the gathering there. The only hold back for that idea is enough space to park the trucks! See you all in 4. 5 days.

By the way, I am bringing 20 pork steaks and the grill. All of you can bring anything to add. What you bring is up to your imagination. I don't think we will have any trouble with the food. By the way, the grill is gas, so all of you with propane additives for your truck, look out if the tank on the grill runs out!

Boy, am I glad to hear about the gas grill. As poorly as my worn out old Cummins powered Ram is running, I'm sure I'll need a new tank to get me home #ad

Guys; Anybody ready to declare a weather contingency plan yet? Low on Sat. morning is predicted to be 25. #ad
Good news is it's supposed to get up to 42. #ad
Any quick input? Steve W.

As of tonites news we're in the 6 to 8 inch snowfall area. It might be better if we postponed our get together for a week.

Hi all. I just got back from southern Illinois. I could not make a meeting on the 24th until around 11:30 or 12:00 noon depending on the location. If it would still be at the park then I could make it around 11:30. I'll go by what all the others want to do. We need some quick posting to cancel/postpone the gathering on the 17th.
David

Attention,St. Louis TDR members; The weather's messin' with us but we're fighting back! Due to the lateness, we're going through with the meeting as there may be some who leave for the meeting before visiting this site. Vote quick/today, inside or out. I can make arrangements and post late tonight if the vote is for inside, including directions to somewhere reasonably close to the original park/meeting place in edwardsville. I have 3 votes in right now but don't want to sway you either way. Inside or out? Let's hear from you, members (QUICK!). Steve W.

Hey guys, I had to into Chillicothe today for a tax appointment and had to take gravel roads the back way just to avoid flooding. By tomorrow I may not be able to get out of town very easily once the thaw starts. I'm going to have to pass on this meeting unless its changed to the following weekend. David if you need some bucks for the pork steaks you let me know and I'll send you some. I'll just keep checking this forum to see if the meeting is changed or not.
Sam
