The difference is god awful turbo whine. I started with the stage 2 and it drove me nuts... What Mark says is true, if you like turbo whine and I mean alot of it, you will like the stage 2. I have a used one I will sell to you at half the cost of a new one... The stage 2 left a ringing in my ears after a few hours of driving. Now, I do have a Edge turbo that is larger than stock and that may be why mine was so loud.

I will say the stage 2 does about 50 to 100 degrees better with EGT.



I now have the stage 1 with pro guard 7 and am loving life!

Dang it!!! both of you... . OH Well. My stage I and tt are ok for now. I will have to throw it all away when the twins go on anyhow.

Well, it looks like the 2 guys before me did not take Billua up on his offer. So now I have a AFe Stage 2 kit on it way to me! (Thanks Billua!). Got a chance to talk with Billua on the phone today, real nice guy. Glad we have the chance to help each other out with parts/money swap.
 
AVNote the answer is Yes, No and Maybe. Depends on dealer service department and what might happen. A grenaded turbo would probably be denied. If STAR is involved probably.
 
If anybody else out there has any more stage II's they want to sell let me know, i've been wanting to get one but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I have yet to see any actual data that proves that. I've been told by an AFE dealer that the old stage 1 with TT flows better than the new stage 2, in spite of the tricky new "high-velocity-necked-down-larger-filter" design. I also haven't heard of anyone upgrading from a stage 1 to stage 2 and realizing any EGT benefits.

I'm not convinced. In that post he didn't say to what he was comparing... 100deg vs. stock? 100deg vs. Stage1 w/tt? Also was the Stage 2 with PG7? Sounds like it may have been with the regular AFE filter which obviously flows more. Just because someone says something once doesn't mean I take it as fact, nor does it mean I'm calling anyone a liar. . just means there's a lot of variables unanswered for.
 
what would be the best air flow unit for my truck ?



k&N ? afe 1 or 2 ? theres a guy at a local shop that wants to sell me a cool air unit thing, cant remember name of place, something with green in it.

or is there something better?



are there any sound changes from changing ?



im lost, all i know is i want my truck to breath better :)
