Advice: Whats next?

Installed Airdog

My fab guy that I worked with building the intake plenum was wondering if you guys would like a plenum that was stainless, he thought it looks way nicer than my coated one. If I could get a stainless one for less than $300 I think it would be resonable what would you guys think?

Air Intake

Are we talking Cold Air Intake and or Air Intake Manifold.

I would like to see pictures first.

Looking good is also only part of the picture.

Easy to clean, demands clean lines, plus improved air flow.

Work within the confined space of the 6. 7 engine compartment.

The intake horn is for the 1998. 5-07 5. 9. our 6. 7's have too much emission stuff on it. For the 6. 7 I am currently building billet covers to get rid of the plastic crap.

I'm not much into shiney stuff, but a less than $300 intake horn sounds like a great deal. I'd be very interested so long as it flows better

Stainless looks good but is it functional for the part? I'm not saying that I'm an expert and I'm not trying to dis the part cause it looks great, but for air intake aluminum is much better since it dissipates heat. Stainless on the other hand holds heat very well which is why it is used in turbo charger systems. Air going into the engine you want to keep as cool as possible.

:-laf Have you measured the air velocity?I Think it may be a moot point.

Bob

Sorry I have taking so long with this, I have been very sick and haven't been able to work a full day going on 2 weeks now. I am going to try my first day back tomorrow.

Just an update the flange will be 1/2 inch and the places for the boost etc. will be drilled and tapped on an angle in the back side of the flange. Looks much cleaner than having them up high.

No Bob I've never measured the air velocity or the density. Like I said I'm not an expert, just stating what I know about certain metals.

I will be fitting the new set-up on a truck tomorrow, I promise it looks much better than the set-up shown. It will be a proper connection instead of the plumbing pipe look. Will post pics soon. Just need to get a proper set-up finalized for the dipstick.

Can't wait to see how it looks on the truck. Was thinking about getting one, but would be curious to know what kind of an improvement over stock it would be based on measured numbers.

Bob,

I got some pics that I need to see if you can post tomorrow. They turned out sweet. I will be able to have the 98. 5-02 horn done with in 1-2 weeks for those interested, just pm me and I can give pricing.

Right now I am build the grid deletes and will post pics, they will go from the square base to round so that the system flows as good as possible, plus it will work for the other horns as well.
