Apparently there is no Stanadyne dealer here in Rock Springs, Green River and I ran my first case out. Does anybody have a good source to buy them from online? Can they even ship stuff like that?

If you are ordering diesel fuel additive I suggest giving the TDR Blend from Amalgamated a try. Only downside is you have to mail in a check (no credit cards) and it comes in 5-gallon containers (smallest quantity). But the inconvenience is worth the higher quality additive. Amalgamated, Inc.

Agree with Vaughn. I've been using Amalgamated for 4-5 yrs. Even with shipping it's almost half the cost of Stanadyne, which I used before.

No connection. Just a satisfied customer.

I tried to contact them but not sure it went through..... I entered my e-mail for them to contact me and my hotmail account returned it..... ???? Gotta love these confusers!

How much is a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff?

Best to just call Amalgamated, 260-489-2549. You can ask for Randy Walker since he's familiar with the TDR crowd. You can ask questions about the additive, and he can give you a total with shipping to your zip code.

Are you going to put this in your Cummins:

Lubrication: This additive helps to prevent fuel system wear by providing a lubricity rating to the fuel that exceeds the ASTM D-975 Diesel Fuel Requirement Specification for maximum engine protection (Less than 520 UM wear scar by the HFRR Lubricity Test).

This does NOT meet the Engine Manufacters specs. While Stanadyne lubricity formula does. For instance Stanadyne is 479um wear scar... . This is not as good as 2 cycle twc III oil!:{

7)Super Tech Outboard 2-cycle TC-W3 engine oil

Unconventional (Not ULSD compliant, may damage 2007 or newer systems)

HFRR 474, 162 micron improvement

200:1 ratio

16. 64 oz/tank

$1. 09/tank

8)Stanadyne Lubricity Formula

Lubricity Only

demulsifier, 5% bio-diesel compatible, alcohol free

HFRR 479, 157 micron improvement

1000:1 ratio

3. 32 oz/tank

$1. 00/tank

What are you saying? The Lubricity Additive Study didn't analyze any of Amalgamated's DFA products  I was disappointed they didn't include any Amalgamated DFA, I would expect it to be one of the top performers in terms of lubricity (not to mention it's the only one that gives a true 6 point cetane improvement).

If you will read the quote from the Amalgamated site - eg 520um, there doesn't need to be anything else. However, since these test are done with raw fuel and with the addition of the additive=results, then with additives added by the distributor, I would assume there would be plenty of lubricity with any of the additives. When this change came out the engine manufactures wanted the wear scar to be <450 but had to settle for more because of the cost.

It also surprised me that the Stanadyne Performance formula does not come up to spec... over 600!!

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't realize that info was on their site. In the past the Amalgamated was supposedly <400 but that was before the recent reformulation to deal with ULSD and its tendency to gel more readily.
