Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Starting down the dark side...

DTT transmission goes in Friday. 3k GSK today. Gauges this weekend.

Spring kit instructions say I need a barring tool to turn the engine over. How expensive are they? Is there another method to the turn engine that will work for this install? Any special do's and dont's to keep in mind?Thanks.

Use the harmonic balancer bolts on the front of the motor. Turns easy with a 1/2" breaker or ratchet and no $s. Clean your pump if yer goin in from the side and use some compressed air to get rid of any dust. You won't believe the difference.

I use an appropriate (I forget the size) 6 point socket on the crankshaft dampener bolts and a ratchet wrench to turn mine clockwise.

I use the alternator nut.

I use a pipe wrench on the balancer. The GSK is AWESOME! Definantly one of the best mods.

22milimeter socket with 1/2 inch drive breaker bar works for me. Use on the alternator pully nut. Turn clockwise. Works good for rotating engine while adjusting valves.
