Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Starting issues

can go to the store and shut it off. Come back out and it wont fire. I turn on the key and the fuel pressure pegs the gauge and wont bleed down. I then open the filter drain to let the pressure off but nothing comes out of the drain tube. But once the pressure is reduced I turn the key on and it fires up. The pump is running as I can hear it. I have a new overflow valve coming from Genos and I hope that fixes it. When its running at idle it reads 13lbs and goes to 8 when under hard throttle. ANY ideas would be helpful, Moe

No codes? No check engine lite? A scanner would be nice to watch the cam and crank sensor, real similiar problems...

Check engine light comes on, but when I try to read the codes using the key or my scanner nothing comes up. I ran it today and shut it off and it would not turn on the pump. After a few tries it built fuel pressure and fired right off. Ran fine all the way home with 13lbs pressure. Pump must be going bad. For me it lasted for 6+ years. Moe
