Yesterday when I parked my truck at work and was waiting for it to cool I noticed a little steam coming from the front. It has done it a few other times, but the roads were wet and I just assumed it was water steaming off (yes I know what assuming does). Is it possible for a hose of something to just leak "occasionally". I can't find any visible signs of leaks.

Thanks

Will

Just an educated guess because I experienced the "steam". I'd look for a leaking head gasket near the thermostat housing and also the thermostat housing. I had a leaking head gasket, but not anymore.

I see the same thing when I cool down after driving on wet roads or while lightly raining. Turns out that it's just water steaming off the intercooler for me. Hope it's that simple for you because I know what having headgasket problems is like. (6 times) Definately no fun at all!

Start with the easy stuff first, radiator cap.

i just noticed a similar steam and it was a faulty radiator cap. Explains the air leak into the coolant system, too.

Are you running fanless???

I see this quite often when running fanless. Especially with fresh snow and a nice warm engine and radiator.

I did just recently remove the fan, and that is about the time I started noticing the steam. I will also check the other suggestions. Thanks for the help everyone. This is a great site, always lots of help.
