hey guys,this problem just started today and i figure somebody knows whats up. when i turn the steering wheel it moves back and forth about 3 or 4 inches at very low speeds,not as bad at 20+mph. any ideas?

have you got it in 4 wd ? I've done that a couple of times . when I was off road forgot to take it out when I went back to the pavement .
 
Assuming you didn't have it in 4WD, it's time for axle u-joints. While it's apart, check the condition of the ball joints and if you're going to keep the truck, consider a free-spin kit.
 
rscurtis,i think you nailed it. i have heard the same from just about everyone i ask. is this a part of the free-spin kit or just the time to do it because everything is apart?by the way i really appreciate the reply,thanx.
 
When you install a freespin kit you have to change the outer axle shafts so that means taking apart "half" the ujoint, In other words replace the ujoint. Mine were still good but I installed new ones anyway. Shadrach
