When I'm driving I have no trouble going from heat to A/C or redirecting the air flow to where I need it, all the vents appear to be working correctly. But after I shut the engine off I can hear loud creaking under the dash toward center and right of center. The weird thing is the noise and movement usually starts anywhere from five to thirty minutes after shut down. The first time it happened my wife was sitting alone reading a book in the passenger seat and it scared the hell out of her. I'm new to this truck and I don't know my way around it very well but this can't be a normal condition. Are there some parts that need replacement or lubrication or adjustment? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Earl

Can not say for sure. I do not know if your doors are vac operated or elec.
Could be vac leaking out. Could be the stuff under the dash shrinking or expanding. Never recall hearing it on my Mule or Moose ( liner).

It's just the HVAC system doing a shutdown/get ready for next time routine after you turn off the ignition. My 2014 truck sounded like an old creaky haunted house at times......my 2016 has been pretty quiet.

I had this happen years ago in Florida summer heat pulling a travel trailer.

It freaked out my wife. I'm used to it

Sam[/QU Were you able to quiet the the gremlins in any way or do you just live with it?

"Were you able to quiet the the gremlins in any way or do you just live with it?"

If I remember right, a dealer tech posted on here it was normal, nothing to worry about....so I didn't.......that, and I didn't own the truck that long as FCA had to buy it back because of the electrical gremlins that lived it the dash....

My 2016 truck doesn't seem to make the noises......

It is the doors parking themselves. Most if not all FCA vehicles do it a few minutes after shut down. The way you fix it is shut down the truck and get out. It's similar to the tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear it.

Thanks for your help guys, I guess I wont concern myself with it.
