Well I think it's time to start some power upgrades. As you can see below in my sig what my spec's are.

I don't want anything over 400HP, something around 300 HP. I use the truck on the farm and as a daily driver. I pull some loads that weigh 17,000 pounds and up (trailer load by itself).

I'm thinking I'll start out with a #10 plate. Not sure if I need a 3 or 4gsk or not?

I'm not looking to go wild, just need a little more get up and go, if you know what I mean?:-laf

Whats your suggestions?

On my '98,I started with a Banks Stinger kit. That essentially consisted of a K&N drop-in air filter, a 3 1/2" Cat back exhaust, Big Head Actuator, a #8 plate and guages. That made a fair difference for a while. I later went to 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust to help EGTs and added a 3K GSK. Being able to rev quickly to 3K or more made a huge difference in towing performance. I never changed my pump or injectors beyond sliding the plate and adjusting the star wheel just a bit. I wasn't looking for smoke although it did a little when I got on it. I suspect it was putting out 250 HP or so, above stock by about 70HP. Adjusting timing would also make a pretty big difference, I'm told.

You already have an AFE, gauges, and no Cat, although I'm not convinced the cat is a big restrictor if not plugged. I added a 4" Cat back into my exhaust to quiet it down and keep me legal. Adding the other things individually would be quite a bit cheaper than buying the Banks and be at least as effective.

Should I bump the timing up a bit?

I asked these questions about a montha ago. . I am on my way to a usable towing 400rwhp... I was told the 10 plate with 3000gsk stage III dynomite diesel injectors, 62/14 turbo would be the ticket... I have ordered the 10 plate with KDP fix and 3000gsk kit all from TST it should be here shortly... . Injectors and turbo will be next in a month or two. . I also spent some money on the front end due to it walking the road... .

you aught to be able to do it with what you've got. I haven't even got your nice transmission and have made several 150 mile trips with truck 8500#, 32' gooseneck weighs 7800# and have put 15,000 to 17,000 on trailer. just have to take it easy and not put my foot too deep on hills to show some furd owner what a real truck will do as trans temp gets high enough to raise engine water temp. Once I'm up to 70 mphr cruise speed I'm rollin.
