A few weeks ago I slid my stock plate full forward, and turned the AFC wheel one turn. It woke the engine up quite a bit. My EGTs went up from 925-1050 (without a load on the same hill). Boost moves quickly to 30 psi and then backs off to 26-28. I was expecting more smoke and higher EGTs... not that I wanted either... does this sound typical? I remember reading posts warning of sliding the stock plate full forward because of high EGTs.

Am I remembering wrong?

Is it just because I have 4. 10s and it tops out too soon and defuels?

Will I see those higher EGTs when I hook up the boat this summer?

Edit: Pump timing at 14. 7 degrees.

Joe, sliding the stock plate, disabling the wastegate and bumping the timing to 16 or so is about the cheapest power there is.

Say 40-80 HP as a guess, the 80 hp/140 T/Q has been done..... did that with back to back runs on the dyno 2 hours apart, but it was a 215 HP motor.
