I was eyeing the $700 HX-40 too. Until I did my homework.

The $700 HX-40's are not clocked, wastegate won't hook-up the the OE Dodge actuator, does not include a downpipe, v-clamp
wastegate bracket spacers or all needed gaskets.

You will need to cut & reweld the wastegate linkage to work. Also Clocking it can be tough for someone who's never done it, and a ***** without the correct BIG snap
ring pliers.

Also, if you go to the Holset web page , you will see there are 14 versions of the HX-40. Joe D & Piers experimented with the different models and found the best application for our trucks. Who knows what version the others are selling?

Where can I find out more info about the H2E? I've never heard of it.

I would go with a HX-40 and have it modified to give you quicker spool ups. That way you have a great daily drive that can make good power. If you wanted more power go with a H2E. The H2E came off of a L-10 engine. It,s the size of a HX-55. (but does not flow quite as much air)It has a 17cm nonwastegated housing. You will need a manifold adptor to bolt it up. You will also need a 4" down pipe. If you are handy you can make the stuff yourself or call Piers,he had some adptors made up. If you want to make it yourself,email me and I will give you some tips to make it easier. The adptor took me about a day, and the down pipe about 2hrs.

MDW, I think the 16cm2 housing would help your EGT problem. With all the other enhancements you have made, I do not think the lag would be an issue. The highest hp truck I have installed the 16 on was about 325hp. Lag seemed to be less and EGTs droped 200-225 deg.

Still doing tests on the HX40 "Side-Kick" kit for the HX35. (poorboy HX40) It's getting the best response from the intercooled first gen trucks so far. Go figure!
