Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Strange acting lift pump

Never heard this complaint: no matter how long my truvk sits without being run the lift pump only runs for a second or two & there is very little or no fuel pressure. If I bump the starter the pump will run the full cycle & fuel pressure is 15# or more 'till it cycles off. Has normal fuel pressure when engine is running.

Yep, I've heard about other trucks doing the same thing. As long as the pressure comes up when you start to crank it I see no need for concern.
