Here's what I used on Saturday to track down an elusive boost leak:

1-3" ABS Cap

1-3" x 6" or so piece of ABS pipe

1-valve stem from Napa that has a threaded shaft and nut.

1- 3" rubber connector

Drill about a 3/8" hole in the cap and install the valve stem.

Cut off a chunk of 3" ABS Pipe. You want enough pipe to get secure connection at the cap and the rubber connector, but not so long as to allow any space between the end of the cap and the rubber connector. IE keep the whole thing as short as you can, otherwise the alternator gets in the way.

Glue up pipe to cap, then connect the rubber connector to the pipe. Then remove air cleaner hose and lid, and connect the open end of the rubber connector to the turbo. It won't want to fit. So I stretch it with my hands, got one side on and then worked it on a tiny bit at a time, but still couldn't get it on.

I finally pulled the ABS out of the connector and worked the connector with my fingers from the inside and then it went on... nice and tight. Replaced ABS and cap in the rubber connector and tightened it all up with hose clamps.

I used my DC powered compressor to fill up the system, but never got it to go beyond 25psi. I immediately had a leak at the base of the intake horn. Pulled the horn and smeared some black high temp RTV on the gasket and put it back together again. I used soapy water in a spray bottle to find this leak.

Filled up the system with air again, and now found a leak at the big intake plate (what is this callled?) under the intake horn and grid heater.

Here's a picture:

Check for intercooler or piping leak! I got an easy test set up from JJPage. You can read it on my Boost leak test thread. Give it a try as this seems to fit my scenerio.
