Well,,uuhhhh......
I'm a REAL newby here on the TDR, and I've read these posts with a lot of interest. I really don't know how to compare one transmission company from another, I wish I had been around as long as some of you to make such a comparision. I have ordered a transmission upgrade, just the other day, but now I'm not gonna say where I got it, because I don't want to get ***** slapped by someone. It will be in my signature when its installed, but by then this may be over with.
Seems to me, that the purpose of these forums is to learn, to be better than you were before. And the only way to do that is to hear positives AND negatives as well. Seems to me that if someone has a serious question, and if someone else knows the answer, its ok to give it. But you may be called upon to explain why you like what you like, which also may include technical questions. If someone asks me a technical question about these machines (which would be a mistake), it would behoove me to give the most accurate answer I can, BUT be ready to back it up. . Thats the purpose of a forum. If you are gonna get mad and point fingers and raise the ire of others, you are defeating the purpose of these forums.
Again, as a newby, I really don't know, but I would guess that ALL the before mentioned transmission companies put out a fine product, or else they wouldn't be in business. Not for long with an educated bunch of guys like you are, putting them to real tests each and every day. I am awed at the things you do with your trucks!
I really forgot where I was going with this, but, I think it really boils down to what your needs are and which company makes the product that fits your needs. Procedures of how companies do things with installers aren't important as long as it was done right and you get what you needed in the long run. I am driving 600 miles to get my transmission done, because it suits my needs. Pick what you want , report how it works, and let it go at that. . If you want a technical question answered, be prepared, you may not get the answer you wanted, but, hey, thats life. See ya on the road!
