Suncoast Transmission

Well guys, I finally did it. Ive been wanting to upgrade to compound turbos but knew if i did the transmission would be toast before i got home. So yesterday I dropped the truck off to a local shop who deals Suncoast. They are doing the full works, TC, valve body, input and output shaft, clutches and electronics. Friends keep telling me I will notice a world of difference but Im not sure. Never had a performance transmission before.

I did the exact same to my '03 drw 3500. It has been great, with 245,000 miles on the build job it is still doing good. No problems of any kind. You should be happy.

Well I just heard from the shop that's doing the transmission work. He said that some of the Suncoast internals are on back order, so he will be using Goerend parts instead. The TC will be Suncoast for sure but he didn't say what all will be Goerend. Should be ready by Tuesday at the latest. Can't wait!!!

$4500 is what ATC quoted me when we sat down and decided on what i wanted done.

When I had my 06 we were at the same point about upgrading the transmission. We decided to wait till the 68rfe came out with the 6. 7 and traded and have never looked back.

you will love it. i was about to sell my 01 and get a duramax 3500 drw and the guy at the chevy dealership was about $3k different on what i was thinking so i came home and ordered a Goerend and love it. i would never think of selling my truck now.

One of my welding buddies said it will grab like a manual transmission when you dump the clutch. If that's anywhere close to true i will definately have the SEG!

I just had my transmission replaced with a SunCoast transmission at 169000 miles.
It's like having a new truck! My truck thinks it is a sports car!

I had to replace my transmission also but went with the ATS. Had a little shop do it in Tomball TX. Those aftermarket performance trannys are awesome. Just have to make sure i dont twist a driveshaft now. LOL

Well I picked her up this afternoon. It's definitely a night and day difference! Before the transmission build the tach would climb quickly and the speedo would follow close behind. Now the tach is playing catch up to the speedo! I can only imagine how she will do with the compounds and injectors!

I had ATS do mine in CO. Had it done over a year ago and still have the SEG!

I had mine done at Suncoast in Ft. Walton. My original transmission wasn't slipping, just making a whining noise when coasting. I knew it was time to do something.
