Reports like that Criggan will get the dual cp3s vs. Cp3. 4 conversations going. This is my next step along with some injectors, just gathering info for now. I appreciate the great info. Let us know what that truck dynos or some 1/4 mile times if you get a chance.

Michael, Thanks, I am very satisfied with how the cp3. 4 turned out. Its really great. I hope to at least get some dyno time in Durham NC soon. with Work permitting. You know, got to pay for this stuff--- I owe I owe , its off to work I go. .

to answer your question luken, one super pump out flows 2 stockers all day long.

in a replie to your quote

"I am just very happy to report that all of the comments I have read and heard over the past month about the super cp3. 4 being too much pump, and rail pressure spikes will hit 30k and I was going to have too much fuel and could not get rid of it, and I would wash down cylinders. Well all of these are "FALSE" on my truck!"

that B. S. only comes from those who really dont know what they are talking about, and it will never change im sure. also with people just throwing boxes at a truck thinking that the best there is. when you have a pump that can supply all the pressure demanded at any time, and you put a pressure box on that demands a ton of fuel all the time by fooling the ecm to think there is not enough fuel there. so yes at that point you will see a very big pressure spike. if used correctly like shown above i think this will be the hot ticket.

jason im glad to see your up and running, sounds promising. give us a holler when you hit the dyno. good luck Oo.

Hey, thanks again, I need to get that thing on the dyno.

This is some good data and R&D! I'm no C/R guy but I still like it!

If people on knew how long ago the pump was born on a test truck!

Jim

Were glad you like it. We are not suprised though. We know your tuning will be very comprehensive, which will make a very nice truck. We have been running ours and testing every new product we have come up with and we have used some smaller and very large injectors, differnet turbo configurations etc. We put our large set of twins on for testing and we see big potential for more hp. Our Twin Turbo kits are tested and ready for sale and in stock. We have the engine out and torn down we still see the cross hatch in the cylinder walls. We are building this engine from the ground up with some of the very best components and machine work to allow us to continue our testing and see what the greatest hp and performance will be. It's been hard running our bussiness, developing new products, displaying our products at shows and yes making time for family. We have some customers already making very large hp but we want to let them tell the world not us. I can tell you this, the size of injectors we have made for one of our customers is 93lpm and he is making record hp for a 3rd gen. The CP3. 4 can also work at much lower hp also, even stock. It's all about tuning. If you go to the Banks Duramax race truck web site which shows how their building their truck. You will see a CP3. 4 as part of their build up which was sent to them by Bosch as I understand it. I am sure that their tuning will show great results. Thanks

93lpm... ... ... ... ..... :--) whats that good for a million hp :-laf

your right it's all about tuning.

The cp3. 4 is the same pump on the new 6. 7 motors right?

If so, do you guys use the rail and injector lines from that motor too (see that they are bigger?)

JasonCzerak, I hope I am understanding you correctly, The only components that I replaced on my 2005 5. 9L was the injection pump and the front timing cover assembly that retains the pump, the feed line to the fuel rail. Thats It. Everything else plumbed in just fine.

Hope this helps. By the way, Day 3 and no smoke and tons of power !! STOCK RAIL PRESSURE BY THE WAY !!! IM LOVIN IT :D

Judging by the picture taken at SEMA I don't see why the pump on the 6. 7 is that much bigger than the 5. 9. I believe the CP3. 4 came from somewhere else.

are you duel feed or single?

The cp3. 4 is Single feed currently.

I believe the reason we dual feed the original cp3 was to recover rail pressure when stepping down hard on the accelerator.

The original cp3 would loose rail pressure then regain some. After the dual feed line was installed on the original cp3 we did not see the drastic drop and it would recover quicker.

BUT :D with this cp3. 4 I do not have rail pressure drop. I have exactly what the ECM commands RIGHT NOW and is consistent. If my foot asks for it, the CP3. 4 GIVES IT :-laf

I can't say for sure, but I believe the cp3. 4 is used on tug boats. Imagine that!! I would like to know just for grins what other engines/vehicles use the cp3. 4 in a stock application.

would you happen to have any installed pictures? for the rest of us who dream about one day having a hot rod CR pump. i'm curious as i am in need of pump upgrading but consider a stage 2 also. what benefits does this monster have over stage 2?

Of course I had to remove the camshaft in order to install the new front cover/ bracket unit that houses the cp3. 4.

Crap. I was hoping that the 3. 4 would bolt up to the OEM gearcase. Looks like I'll have to run dual pumps with the Jeep since the "ISB 170" has a rear gearcase.

The pictures are very good information. I can see why this pump will supply more fuel. I'm rethinking my truck and would like to include this pump.

ahh

I for some reason though the 3. 4 was like for the new cummins motor since it runs with a higher pressure with bigger lines and everything.

For the applications that this Cp3. 4 would be used on for "stock" configurations, could the injectors that would go with this pump be compatible with the 5. 9's head?

I talked to I. I. and they told me they also have Dual CP3 kit. Do you guys think that would be good to use instead of the CP3. 4? This way I would'nt have to change my cam or pull the front cover. Just a thought.
