My 2011 CTD will surge forward or rearward depending on if I have it in drive or reverse. It only surges on start up on cooler days. If I hit the remote start and let it run a while, it will not surge. It is only when I get in on a cold motor and usually it's drive that I put it in. It almost seams like its powerful enough to override the brakes. I've almost ran out into traffic because of it. Took to dealer and they said that it was normal. I DON'T THINK THAT IS NORMAL for a CTD that has less then 5000 miles on it. Is anyone else experiencing the sme problem and if you are what did you do to take care of the problem.

I have experience it in reverse on cool days. It's like the governor kicks in when I put it in reverse. I asked the dealer about it when it was in for the tie rod recall, and of course, they can't duplicate it.

What I have found is that if I go to neutral on cool mornings and give it a few seconds there, then reverse, it doesn't do it.

I don't feel the engine rev or anything, just the surge.

I have that issue on occasion also. It happens backing out of my garage when I put it in reverse right after start up. If I let it it run for 30 seconds before putting it into reverse, that seems to help. I thought it may because the throttle was up due to the colder temps.
