I just had a new Dunrite Converter & shift kit Installed at Rancho Transmission in Temecula,CA And they used Moble 1 trans flouid and the trans runs a lot cooler maybe 50 degrees cooler.

I spoke with Tony at Dunrite on Friday and he will be testing the LE Transmission Fluid along with Amsoils new 30w ATF. From what I understand both he has spoke with both parties and is just ironing out some details. It looks like we'll have some results by spring.

Edit: BTW the LE is not synthetic

I'm wondering about using synthetic transmission fluid in my automatic transmission. Come summer , I'll be pulling my 5th wheel around, and I know that overheating the transmission fluid causes failure. What do you guys think?

What Mobil 1 trans fluid is that? I have been looking for a Mobil 1 trans fluid, but have been unable to find one. Their tech line even told me that they did not produce one to meet the Chrysler spec's.

Likewise: I looked thru Mobil's entire fluid line-up and did not find any synthetic that Mobil claimed was acceptable for use in DC trannys. If you found one, please post it. If you are running some sort of "experiment" on your truck, let us know how it goes!

I used Red Line's 7176 ATF +3 in my Ram since about 7k mi. When I had my latest transmission enhancements made (by DTT) last month (47k mi. ) I switched to Amsoil's Universal ATF (ATF +4). Both have worked very well for me. In fact, when I had my BD transmission upgrades made by The PowerShop last April (31k mi. ) the owner commented that he had NEVER seen a cleaner transmission than mine!
