I've tried several 3/8 Allen/H-10 sockets on the fill plug for my NV273D t-case but all have a little slop as they don't fit tight in the plug. Now one of the flats on the plug is beginning to round out from one of the corners of a socket.

Any suggestions as to how to get an Allen fitting to fit tighter would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Pretty sure mine was a 10mm Allen, though it was pretty wallowed out from the previous owners.

10 - and if it is finally out, replace it. For the next exchange..

Worst case use a Torx that fits - before you round it out entirely, Torx tends to "bite" in such cases instead of rounding that the Allan does.
Torx are metric.

Thanks, Ozy. I heard about using a torx but wondered if that would only make it worse. If I can't get a good fit with the metric I'll give a tight torx a try.
