Today I test drove a Ford Powerstroke 6. 0l King Ranch Crew Cab - and hated it. No diesel should wait until 2500 RPM to begin it's power band.
I then went and test drove a Dodge 2500 Lariat Sport with the 5. 9 HO/48RE and immediately traded my 2003 SLT 5. 9 SO/47RE for it.
I can't understand why anyone would buy the SO after driving the HO. I did move the Edge-EZ to the new truck and am thrilled with the difference in power and the performance of the new 48RE transmission.
I had planned to wait for the early 2004's but this truck had everything I was looking for - including a dealer installed sun roof (that closes when you turn the key off) and a remote start unit - so I took the plunge (and the hit from trading in a 7 month old 2003 with 17000 miles).
