I made reservations for the campground today starting 28 Sep. I also tried to sign up on the LSTDR site but got a error '(111) Connection refused' when I submitted the form.

It looks like a server problem. I tried to log on to check it out and it won't let me. We'll just have to wait it out.

hotel, motel, holiday inn...?

I know that this has been asked already, so forgive me if I skiped over it in the 7 pages that are on here:eek:, but what hotel are the NON campers staying at? Is there a group rate for us?

Thanks,

AJB

You know, I haven't even thought about that. I'll call tomorrow moring and find out. I'll get a list of hotels in the area, and find out if any will offer a group rate for us. Thanks for the heads up.

Update

Now I am laughing out loud. Isn't it amazing what people can do when there is a chance to gather up & talk trucks?!!I talked to Buckhorn this a. m. They confirmed that all 27 spaces originally set aside have been taken. They have more spaces & will continue to take reservations. You who are planning to be there should make yours as soon as is feasible.

The food ideas floating around are all good; lets pick one & let the cooks decide how to make it work. Someone may want to contact Buckhorm about their kitchen.

Best count I can put together is: 27 camping & 23 not camping. I really believe there are more but can"t confirm.

Hotels

Here's a list of hotels in the Kerrville area. Some on the list are B&B's and some are national chains. I've called a couple of them and asked about group rates. I'll let you know which ones offer that and how much the room will be.

About how many are planning to stay in a hotel? If you are , could you e-mail me and let me know? That way I can have a hard number to plan with.

Thanks.

Latest info I have

I have a verbal committment fron a local Dodge dealer for door prizes, goodies for sale & to display a dressed up CTD. More to come. Also, I talked to Buckhorn on Sat. They have 28 reservations for camping. The last count I have is for 25 non-camping. I am having doubts about the accuracy of this count;but do not know how to verify. Those of you who are coming but not camping:please e-mail me . (those of you who have already done this please do it again. ) Thanks,

We are going early. Whenever in the Texas Hill Country, we must slip off down to Utopia to the Lost Maples Cafe for hamburgers and some of that good homemade pie!!

Just made my reservation

Looks like a go for the Rally for me! I finally

confirmed my days off from work, and today I'm

going to check out a couple of travel trailers.

Bigger the better, right? Biggest one I can find

so far is a 31'. A 5ver would be great but I am

sure they are difficult if not impossible to find

for rent! I don't need one bad enough to buy.

I'll be arriving the 28th. My wife Terri is also

coming along, and our two kids (dogs. . hehe. . )

See you guys there!

Austin area guys? Any of y'all going to convoy up to Kerrville Saturday morning? If so, where are y'all going to meet and what time?

Houston to Kerrville Convoy Friday? If so what time & where to meet?

I'm going to leave Friday 9/28. Anyone else

planning on leaving let me know and we can

convoy to Kerrville. Sure to be a blast!

Chris,

Okie and I are planning on meeting at the I-10W Picnic Area at Brookshire (the one with the left exit) at 7:00 AM on Friday, September 28th. You're welcome to hook up with us if that fits your schedule. :)

both there by 7am. I am coming from Conroe. I

plan on leaving sometime before. . noon... hehehe. .

Latest

Today I talked to Jennifer at Buckhorn. We now have 30 reservations to camp. I also want to ask what you think about my R. V. dealer bringing his CTD & a a trailer for display. We need to determine what we want to do about food. My personal experience is that pot luck works well. Something for everyone & food left over. If enough people stay til Sunday we can talk to the owner about their fixing breakfast. They did this on super bowl weekend this past January & it was very good.

Looking Good!!!

Thanks for the update Jim. Add another to the count for camping. I'm making reservations Tuesday.

I forgot to mention that the campground has a breakfast every morning for all the campers at the grounds. The cost is $4. 00 per person. We'll have the barn after breakfast. I've got a tentative schedule posted on the rally site. All I have is through lunch, not sure what to do after that. I would like to get a cruise lined up for that night. I guess the afternoon would be a good time to walk around and check out each others trucks.

I've ben asked about working on trucks at the campsite. I will call then on Tuesday and ask. I'll let you know that day as to what their reply is.

Lunch is still up in the air.

If you have anymore suggestions just let me know.

Bring her on down. We'll squeeze ya in:) :)

The campsite says not to worry about parking. They'll make room

BTW, I've only got 3 replys about hotel rooms. The hotels I've spoken to will need about 10 people to get a group rate. E-mail me if you are planning to stay in a hotel please.

Thanks again,
