2001 Texas Rally was Great!!

Texas Rally images are posted here!

How about...

It's probly too late for this but how about some t-shirts. Will anybody have t-shirts for this event? Being a poor broke college kid I don't have $$$ for a hotel room hardly, but I would love to buy a t-shirt from this event.

There are several t-shirt shops here in Nacogdoches, but I don't know if we have time to do an order, and I lack the funds to find out.

Just an idea if someone wanted to try and make some $, this would probly be a good bet.

I just spoke to Kerrville Off-road Truck Supplies and they are still planning on coming. I mentioned the fee for vendors and they said it was no problem. Since these vendors will essentially be buying lunch for everyone, I think it is important that we support them as much as possible. If you guys have been thinking about a Ranch Hand grill guard, nerf bars, etc. , why not hold off and buy them at the rally. They will be doing installs all day Saturday. I really think we should try and make it worth their while to be there.

Heart of Texas Dodge in Austin 1-800-580-7026

These guy have been absolutely great to work with have gone out of their way to support us so lets show them how much we appreciate them.

Thanks for everything guys. See ya there.

I have some new T shirts left over from May Madness 2001. Too many were ordered and some L and XL remain. 1/2 price at the Rally = $5. I'm tired of tripping over the box in the garage :)

Vendor Fee

Hey guys I might have missed a post but what is the cost for vendors to participate in the rally. I havent confirmed but the last time I talked with Jerry Jardine of Jardine Performance he had plans on coming. Also Southwest Diesel Brake of Dallas has talked about coming as well... . I will confirm. Guys we got to have shirts made for this rally... . anybody got any connections for shirts? The May Madness shirts are a great idea. . I will take two!! Looks like the rally is going to be a huge success.

I just got confirmation that Jerry Jardine of Jardine Performance will be attending the rally. Save your money up for that 4 inch exhaust!! :)

X-TRA-X-TRA-READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!!!

One of my e-mails today was to confirm Joe Donnelly's attendance. I also have 5 more trucks to add. This puts us with at least 90 (ninety) trucks planning to come. One of the reasons I believe there to be more is:today I talked to Marlin at Buckhorn Lake. He gave me a count of 42 reservations to camp. Last year we had 50 trucks at Temple. At that rally there were maybe a dozen R. V's. Doing the math I can envision over 100 trucks. YIPPEE!!!The other thing Marlin shared with me is that we will have the campground almost to ourselves; only a few other reservations have been made so far.

With 100 Cummins diesels running through the campground, anyone that's not part of the TDR will be leaving, I'm sure! ;)

More door prizes,etc.

I got an an answer from Robert Patton to an e-mail (and a phone call from Curtis-seems we had the same idea on the same day) He (actually Geno's Garage) will donate (five) $50. 00 gift certificates to the rally. I am calling Robin tomorrow to get the particulars. Also got an offer of help from Mac's R. V. & I will call him tomorrow ,too. Tonight I talked to Kathy at Buckhorn. They are looking for a large Bar-B-Q pit & will call me if they can get one in timefor the rallly. ---p. s. lets hope we don't run anyone away-we may want to make this an annual event.

I've been dragging my feet long enough on this. I was not sure if I would be able to attend due to my work schedule but have it worked out now. Audrey and I will be coming out for the day on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing everyone

Ok, finally got some confirmations.

We should have two different T-shirts to choose from.

Piers has offered to bring some t-shirts down from the great north. His will have Piers Diesel Research on the front and an AMerican Flag and a Texas Flag criss-crossed on the back with "Texas Rally 2001" printed underneath.

The second design is being supplied by MDW. Not exactly 100% sure of the layout but I know it will have the LSTDR logo printed on it. Maybe he can jump in here and let us know.

Not sure of the exact price but I know they will be more than reasonable.

The LSTDR logo is going to be on the back, with a Dodge truck on the front with the caption Dodge makes it, Cummins shakes it.

The price will be around $15. 00.

Half the profit will go to the LSTDR bank account, the other half will go to the printer of the shirts.

E-Mail me your orders, I was going to make 25, but the response has been so good that we will be making 50, I can't afford anymore than that.

God Bless America

Pete Peterson

Just got a message from a mutual friend that Pete Peterson will be among us. Many of you probably know him or know of him as he owned Peterson Auto & Truck in Decaeter(sp?), Texas. He declined an invitation to hold a seminar.

Piers and Bill are on their way!

Just thought I'd let you know that Piers, his wife Louise, Bill and Stefan are Southbound to Texas! Myself as well as a few friends ("SlyBones", to name one most of you "know") were privileged enough to meet up with them at their first stop... in Marysville, WA at Randy's Off-Road. After an hour or so of great BSing and business transactions :)D heh,heh,heh... not to mention Piers' expert fault diagnosis for a 12v with a driveability problem), we all went out for a really nice Mexican dinner. Great food and great company! Piers and Bill, you are awesome guys! It's always a pleasure to get together with you two.

PS: when Piers arrives ask him about the sign he was going to place in the back window of Bill's Ram before he crossed the Border into the US. :D:p:p

PPS: Piers, just after you left I remembered I forgot to pay you for the PDR super turbo ... so Bill told me to give him the check... something about filling in the top line (pay to the order of: ) Bill's retirement fund :D Did I do the right thing? :D:p

BTW, I'm now a proud owner of one of the new PDR T-shirts. :D
