What a great thought, this way she'll never know how much you spend on new BOMBing goodies.

On the other hand, you'll never know how much she spent on her shopping goodies. :(

Does this make it a even trade out?

Kid, you never get even. My wife points to my truck and says how muck I spend. I point to the house and blame that on her. I would live in a shack and wear t-shirts and blue jeans, if not for her.

Hale, bring the wife. There is plenty for them to do in and around Kerville.

My wife loves tdr events, really. She will be coming, but no cross stitching for her. She will be in the big middle of everything, talking trucks, telling stories on me... hmmm, maybe she shouldn't come after all... .

Ok, I'm seriously thinking about going.

A friend of mine wants to go, but He doesn't want to go if only a "few" people are going to be there.

My Cousin wants to go, but he doesn't know if he'll have time off.

What do I HAVE to do to be able to go?

I am thinking about showing up early one morning, and leaving the same day, late. Of course, I might get really addicted to everything, and decide to stay a little longer.

*I* don't mind one bit sleeping in my truck, but would this be ok to do there?

So here is what I am asking yall.

Can I just show up without registering and such, and then leave that night, and/or come back the next day if I don't stay at the "CampGround"?

Or do I/Should I call somebody and tell them I may be coming?

Thanks,

MerrickNJr

You don't have to stay overnight to come to the rally. Several of the other members will be doing the same thing your talking about. I'm told there are several hotels in the area, and Guadalupe RV Resort also has cabins available to rent overnight. All you need to do is go to the Texas Rally page on the LSTDR website and register or send an e-mail to Jim(RdRunner) and he'll get you counted.

Hope you guys can make it.

I was wondering if there is a sponsor for this years event?? I know someone was going to check if the dodge dealership in borene was interested, but I haven't heard anything else about it. Does anybody know?

Another possible sponser might be Henson Dodge in Madisonville. This is where I bought mine, and they have EXCELLENT customer service. Drove the truck down 1 1/2 hours to sign papers, and drive trade-in back. I'm sure they would love to do this.

A couple of suggestions for everyone to be thinking about.

1. Having a common meal for everyone. Something simple like spaghetti and bread, etc that everyone could fix and then throw together.

2. Hill country drive into the Bandera, Utopia, Leakey, Vanderpoole area to see some of the spectacular sights of the area. I have my favorite drives, but some of you locals may be able to shed some light on this idea.

Talk amongst yourselves and get back to us!

Drivin'

Oh yah, was just thinking about that a day or so ago.

Would be WAYYYY Awesome to take a scenic drive around.

I wonder what the towns around would think when 30+ CTD's come driving through, or stop somewhere,, maybe to fuel up at a Diesel station somewhere.

To fill up 30+ Trucks at one shop would take forever,, but it could almost be like a show and shine,, LOL.

I've got my truck prepared, and I'm ready to go, Now I hope my schedule can get it's act together so I can have time to make it up there.

BTW, Approximatly how many CTD's are going to attend?

Stop it! I work on weekends...

I sure wish I could go and put some faces to those handles but that's life I guess. Need to make money for all the bombs you guys are now forcing me to buy!!!

Might be a good thing, I don't think seeing all those bombed trucks and vendors in one spot would be good for my wallet or marriage for that matter:D :D

Maybe next time, you guys have fun for us stuck working.

Another EXCELLENT Attraction

If you haven't been there, the Nimitz war museum/Pacific war museum is excellent... you could spend the whole day there (it's right in the middle of fredericksburg). It's been about 2yrs since I was there, and they were addind a bunch o'stuff at that time (a small submarine, etc... ). Any free time I get will be spent there, I may try and go a day early so I can spend all day friday there.

here's the link

Still working on some final details for Saturday. I thought Sunday could be kind of a "day fo rest" where we can just mosey around and talk trucks. I know some guys are going to want to leave early to get home. I know it's about a 6 hour drive for me.

So far, there are 27 campsites reserved. I don't have total count of who all is attending. RdRunner will have that info available when he gets back in town I'm sure.

The spagetti thing sounds good. Another idea I've got is bringing about 10lb's of red beans and 10lb's of REAL Louisiana sausage and cooking them up for Saturday evening. Ya'll are welcome to bring whatever you want and we can have a potluck type dinner that night. If anyone knows of a company that would be willing to supply a lunch for us let me know. The barn we've reserve has a full commercial kitchen at our disposal. Even if it's just hamburgers, it would be awful nice of em.

A cruise sound like a great idea, It should be cool enough out to run around with the windows down and listen to the ol' hummin Cummins roll through town.

If anyone has more suggestions, bring em on.

Potlucks are awsome. The way we did it in a club I used to belong to was everybody bring a main dish and the first half of the alphabet (last names) bring salad, bread, whatever and the last half bring dessert. Boy did we eat good. :D

I made reservations for the campground today starting 28 Sep. I also tried to sign up on the LSTDR site but got a error '(111) Connection refused' when I submitted the form.
