Soooo I have been reading the massive amount of threads on the fuel filter cap (2012 6.7)...picked up the filters and the billet cap from Geno's and did a LOF and FF change this am...
What I found is that a 28mm bike tire tube slid right over the petcock hose for spill avoidance...the 1/2 extensions and 28mm socket advice was right on, and it was TIGHT getting the OEM plastic cap off...replaced with the billet (looks great) and it took only 3 bumps to get it turned over and running.
It filled almost a quart bottle with fuel...the filter (10k mileage) was grey but not very dirty....
Thanks again for all the posts on this effort... without them I would have stripped the cap and cracked the filter housing for sure!
