Pumps Bought

Thanks Hitec Redneck, in post #230, talked to Steven, I believe he works at a Volvo dealer, and bought 3 pumps for $70 ea. plus shipping to Texas. Oo.

Pumps on Order

Steven called and said he had only one in stock and would ship it. Said the other two would be ordered from Cummins. Anyone up for doing a survey of miles and reliability?

I ordered two of them a year ago last march, installed one at andrews afb, maryland due to a pump cavitating. The new pump ran for two weeks, it just runs but dont pump  In mileage? 1,000 miles. This and the one that cavitated were both on the rail with a big line kit.

The Cummins dealer I went to is now 168, no longer 68, and they know me, my company does business with them.

They told me the campaign price was no longer offered.

Just reaching and thinking here... ... .

Maybe there was only a certain amount of stock alocated to the campaign price, and after they're gone, they're gone.

That would explain why if some dealers still have some they got under the campaign price still in stock, they can still offer it. ??

When Cummins ends a Campaign they also end the part # the ones that still have that pump by that part # paid the lower price for it and are making 4 times the money they paid for it I think they call it GREED.

My truck quit this morning while pulling a big load of hay. Had a loss of power and then the truck quit. Is this the lift pump or has the lift pump caused my injector pump to fail? Had no starting problem, on loss of power or anything till this morning.

i put one on last september and it only lasted till july of this year #@$%! about 35,000 miles . i had to get a new one at auto zone cost was 160 but i had to have it and it has a one year warranty guess we will see how long this piece of crap lasts

Does anybody know FOR SURE if the cheap pump campaign is over???

Does anybody know of a Cummins dealer still have any of these left and will sell them for the "campaign" price? I need at least 3 or 4.

I dont think its over. . I bought 2 on 3/28/08 @ $64 ea :)

Try a different dealer

Were they in a Cummins box? Carter makes replacements also. I have been told there are no more in the Cummins parts system. You may have hit up a store that had some old stock on the shelf

Yup Cummins box with all the goodies that come with the deal. I guess it is possible that its old stock. They may have started stocking them after I bought a few.

Call them and see Harvey Mack 800-788-3176

let me know what you find out. no luck down here in florida.

They still exist at this price, I just called Steven at 901-345 3270 and ordered another spare, my original finally died at 180K. Installed spare I bought a couple years ago and back in business. I will stick this one in the toolbox and be ready for the next time the fuel pressure goes back to 0.

I just spent the 250 bucks on the FASS direct replacement pump. I year full warranty plus it's made by FASS. I,m tired of screwing around with all that other crap.
