Well they definitely look strong thats for sure.

As deep as they are makes mounting a challenge.

Gotta agree on them being the best. Over the last 30 years I have tried various brands(not all of them obviously but many) and these have been by far the best lights I have ever used. They still work and look as good as the day I bought them and they have about 200k miles out front. Aside from being seemingly impervious to debris and the elements the mounts are just as good. I have not once had to readjust the lights since I put them on.

I like the feature of zooming the beam pattern from wide to pencil beam with the twist of the lense. I love them for all weather conditions and run the combo lenses on 170s on my bush bar.

Do I see a light war coming on? Those KC's look pretty sweet but can you shoot one?

How tough? Lightforce has no equal!

Lightforce's strength is legendary! Under strict police supervision we subjected our

lights to a test that redefines the concept of extreme testing! At a distance of 15M

we subjected a light and filter cover to six rounds from a police issue 12 gauge

remington 870 pump action shotgun, utilising #7 shotshells. Result? The polycarbonate

filters did not shatter like glass or acrylic. Unbelievably, the light was still shining

bright! We invite any other manufacturer to try this test!!!

And if you don't need to shoot one there is the 2008 Best New Product Showcase Award - SEMA Rallye 4000Xi

Well I have to agree on the Lightforce lights being the best I've used. Tried a bunch over the years and have been using the LF lights the last ten. I've yet to replace a bulb(I have two 140's; 2 170's; and 2 240's) On the PIAA's and KC's and others I've used seems I was replacing the bulbs all the time. I think with the composit housing it must suck up some of the bad vibs and shock. Waiting for Ed Mcmann to call so I can afford some of their HID lights.

JKloppe, are you runnning those as High beam supplements for your HID low beam upgrade?? Or do you just like them? Personally, I prefer the more classic look of the KC 135 watt Daylighters in Stainless steel, with grill mesh. I am sure the light is not near as good as those you guys are postin, but with the LS430 HID low beams, any kind of long range pencil, or even driving light, would be enough, I think. BUT,if you wanted HID in a classic look, you could try the KC in the second photo... It draws 3 amps and gives 600,000 CP in the pencil beam version or 275,000 CP in the driving version.

This is a best light period thread, not best bang for the buck thread.

CFish, I have Hella FF200 HID for high beam. I wll have KC Pod HID in my next bumper.

We need pics, everyone that runs the Light Force lights must be using aftermarket bumpers am I right?

Wait a minute... looks like Jack don't, The Light Force pdf makes it appear as though the distance from mounting stud to the back of the lamp is a "fixed" measurement, yet Jack has the lamp forward enough to clear the Grill for opening the hood.

Is this a custom deal or is that measurement not "fixed"

I am saving up for this setup... so will the light force 170's or 240's fit on the defiant or randy ellis bars w/ out hitting the grill/hood area of the truck?

Hella 700FF

I am in the process of mounting a defiant light bar. And for the price of one light force 240 a bought 4 hella 700FF and 100WW bulbs. Thats a lot of light for 170 bucks. I have had great luck with hella lights over the years and have only been disappointed with cheaper lights.

I would love to see how some of you did the wiring. I am currently trying to figure out where to mount the fuses and relays... .

Think Spring

Joe

PS. I am wonder has anyone had any of those expenisve lights stolen off the front of your truck ?????

Those 700's are a major bang for the buck, I have FF1000's on a Jeep - same size with 55w and they are excellent light.

Aftermarket mounting for the lights. . Yes.

I still like the ability of changing the lens and in about 3 seconds I have combo (pencil / flat flood beam) to a pure pencil beam. Also being able to twist the light and adjust like a Maglite flashlight for wide angle or narrow beam. .

Matt,

I mounted my lights on the bumper as I was trying to eliminate a bunch of tubes/brackets etc. on the front of my truck messing up the aerodynamics. The clearance is close to the grill but does not touch.

I believe the mounting base and light for Lite Force lights is the same for all 3 sizes. You just screw on the reflector size that you want.

Ive never tried light force, but I have a couple of Faves...

Solteks are hard to beat, the La Paz is a sick light. As are Fuegos. (soltek is made by baja designs... )

I know this is a BEST LIGHT PERIOD thread. . but those of you reading this looking for a great light on budget, you might try the HID's that checker sells. Avail in a 4" and 7", True HID, and around 100$ a pop.

We have a few of them on the buggy, and they work awesome. Also noticing a LOT more of the checker HIDS on race cars in the whiplash series and such...

Light force by far

I have to cast my vote for the light force, but true enough you do need some type of aftermarket mount or bumper.
