Any ATV riders out there

Alaska Crude Oil Spill of the Week

I love the sound of the Cummins and the sound from the stack I have, especially when I go from 10 psi's boost to 45 real quick. The ebrake also sounds great and when I release it sounds just like air brakes. At ilde with the ebrake on it sounds like a 767 heavy powering up for take off.

The absolute best gasser I ever heard was when GTSJOE ran his Viper on the dyno, really screamed while making over 450 HP at the wheels  .

Scott W.

Izzat Doc Tinker, or Doc Tinkler??:D

HTRDHLR, I've heard that too, except my heads were stock, beneath the 3705s and the crossram.

Spitfire IX. Ghostly. Lancaster. Musical.

Any V-8 heard from 100' past the finish line.

Steam train whistles and DC-3s, 4s and 6s. Used to hear them from my bedroom window when I was a kid.

Good a capella.

Any other music that I like.

Any healthy 6-cylinder engine(s) on takeoff.

Warm wind in the trees.

Wooden floored hardware stores. Sights, smells and sounds.

Some pretty wishy-washy answers up there, are sure you guys own Diesel trucks?

Top Fuel dragster is tough to beat for shear volume and hammering it through your chest.

Dave Mitchell launching is pretty awesome.

Super Modified tractors with several engines are pretty crazy.

And I thought that Blue Angels were awesome, until I heard a squadron of P-51s and a couple B-17s fly over at the Indy 500 for the 50th anniversary of D-Day.

Top fuel or unlimited sled pullers are insanely cool to hear. Radial engines pumped up tight are great sounds, a P51 WFO on the deck at 400+ mph is hard to top. Old warbirds give me goosebumps. The sound of an M60 in your hands eating a belt and spitting out the byproducts is something you have to hear to believe, if you can hear the bullets impacting it is downright religious. The sound of 5" HE rounds impacting at a couple of miles is cool. A 20MM Phalynx at 3500 rounds per minute 30 feet away is unbelievable. The loudest sound I have ever heard is an SA-2ER surface-to-air missile launched about 100 feet away, top fuel is quiet compared to that. Standing on the flight deck listening to F14's catapulting is awesome.

The coolest sound ever is my kids laughing.

1) My old stratocaster, with VanZantt pickups cranked up loud.

2) My Martin acoustic sweet and smooth

3) My beautiful wife telling me its time to quit playing my guitar and come to bed.....

A Cummins N14 or Big Cam III pulling 100,000 lbs up a mountain pass at 60

Or...

That scene in "Dazed And Confused" when Pickford and his buddies leave that guy with the gun at the store. Love the sound of that 400 winding up! :D

Or...

The sound of 5 AC-traction locomotives pulling hard up the 2. 2% grade at Stevens Pass. The snow kinda muffles the sound, which adds to the excitement... :D

mdlowry, living where I live, I hear the "ma duce" several times a month. Not to mention 5. 56 full auto, grenades, grenade launchers, etc. etc.

Yup, it's a cool sound. :D

I to have to agree with the little one sleeping. especailly when they are laying on your chest. Or "Dad, will you come play with me with toys in my room?" gotta love little ones.

My next favorite is the sound of a La France Fire truck pulling out of the station at full throttle with the lights and sirens going. Makes your hair stand on end. Especially when your in the jump seat looking back!

The sound of a . 22 cal 55 grain hornady ballistic tip smacking a ground squirrel at @3500fps. Watching it splatter in the 60 power spotting scope could be my favorite vision:eek:

Diesel Freak, I agree that the F14 at WTFO is a cool sight and sound, truly something to behold. When they are doing that when you are trying to sleep it is not nearly as entertaining though:mad:

The sound of a broadhead smacking a deer is pretty wild too:eek:

Wouldn't be a complete thread without the TDR's token deafie putting in his . 02 here... :D

40 cars bumper to bumper, two and three abreast, going into Talladega Superspeedway's high banks at over 200 mph... .

The ground shaking from an Air Force Thunderbird F-16 coming in low for a landing.....

The twice-annual Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot, near Fort Knox, KY, where they all open up at the same time... . especially the night shoot with the Huey overhead, firing the GE Mini-Guns, 6000 rounds per minute... .

Twin Allison aircraft engines on an indoor tractor puller, or 4 blown big-block Rodecks at full scream. Incredible.

For me, loud is as cool as it gets. :D

Heading up a 6% grade in the Texas Hill Country pulling the 5ver, 6th gear, 2200 RPM, lean hard into the Cummins, watch the gauges top out at 32 PSIG boost, 1100 degF pre-turbo EGT, and listen to that little diesel work. It's almost like it's saying, "I was born for this - bring it on! Is that all ya got for me?" Oo.

Sorry, I'll go back to the corner now. :( My wife doesn't understand, either. :{
