To those of you that use one or the other please post your positive or negative experiences with either: dyno results before and after,fuel efficiency before and after,driveability before and after. EGTs before and after. Ive decided on the PREPORATOR after talking to Charles Ekstam. I will post dyno results and any other issues after the install. I would like to and I'm sure others would like to see how PREPORATOR and the FASS compare. Merv
 
I choose the Preporator after

I spoke to the inventor of the air fuel seperator Charles Ekstam and felt that paying more for the Preporator was the right thing to do for me. Dont want to start a war so i'll leave it at that. I do want to find out how they compare. Merv

Merv, It might be worth your time to maybe make a poll just to see how many people even have the preporator. I don't know if I ve ever seen it in anyones signature. Sounds like its as new as the FASS system. It would also be nice to see if there are any claims that the preporator makes. Do they have a web site to check out? Don

it may be just a "improved" model so to speak. I think the FASS is a more economical way of doing the same thing. I'm not taking sides, i'm actually thinking of buying a preperator when my LP takes a dump. But from what i've read the FASS developer thought he could do the same thing cheaper, using some different parts... thus making a more marketable pump setup. Then some heads were bashed together and they went their own ways. Same thing goes with oil filters as far as i'm concerned, it's not like they discovered oil and stole it. He simply changed some things and called it something else. I think both have a fair place in the market.



Now which side you take is a whole other can of worms i'm staying out of. I'm just gonna research it like i normally do and make a decision based on what I think I should do.
 
Installed Fass

I just installed a FASS system on my truck, bought it because it was priced better. My lift pump took a dump after 19,000 miles and I decided it would be a good time to upgrade. Don't have any expierience with the Perperator so I can't comment. I can say that the Fass iis way better than my OEM pump was. Not a Dyno type guy I just drive my truck and enjoy the power so adding more is always cool. Anyway the truck DOES run smoother and slightly quieter (hard to believe but true) It feels like it pulls harder not as much power as when I added the Raptor but a noticeable added boost. My truck is no powerhouse compared to many but it will put a smile on a non-diesel heads face. I can't pull the pressure below 15 lbs. My gauge is only a 15 and I can just see it start to move when I run it full out. Definetly pulls harder in a way I never thought it was capable of. It was like I was out of fuel before but didn't know it if you understand that. No mileage numbers to compare till after the end of the month as I am on vacation and my driveing is a little different know. Anyway in short The FASS works. Only negative is it does stick down below the truck a couple inches when mounted in front of the drivers side rear tire.
