The NEW and IMPROVED? format stinks

The background being gone helps quite a bit. The bright red lines with the light grey text is still hard to focus on and read. Cant comment on any of the other issues as I have not run into any yet but really just browsed and typed this post. Tone down the red and darken the text is my only complaint at this moment. I am sure you will get it figured out and get a relatively happy median.

Better (but still prefer the old look and feel) - now that the background image is not displayed thru the cracks between posts.

If you could get rid of the red and change the text to black (vs grey) it would be an improvement.

My memory might be off but I do remember the activity on TDR falling off when the last major update was done. I'd hate to think that people would give up on TDR because of some format and color changes, but then again.......

Fortunately traffic has steadily risen since the last major update (2014) from VB 3.x to VB 4.x, doubling the number of monthly user sessions

Found another glitch. I tried to quote something in the 4th gen section. I then tried to make a highlight section of a sentence and make it bold in that quote. It kicks me to the bottom of the page. When I scroll back to the quote, everything is highlighted, but it won't let me highlight anything specific. Just kicks me to the bottom.

What device, browser and browser version?

I have a Moto X as well and it is doing the vertical text but only on the last post in a thread...

Keep tweaking it, getting better. Must be like playing "Whack-a-mole" for the first 24 hours as you change settings.....

Okay, I put in a few hours this morning.

Background image gone.
Background color changed.
Red headers changed to previous colors.
Some of the larger font sizes removed.
Increased contrast in post messages.
Changed button colors.
Changed link colors.
Logo background gone from light to dark (like the old setup).
Quick Navigation made easier to find/use.
Title colors changed


Still on the table:
White space near top of discussion threads. Seems the Likes/Dislikes box is causing that, and I'm working on a solution.
Editor issues with some browsers/settings.
The above changed broke the contrasting areas in the gallery. Will address that because without the contrast it looks disorganized.
Padding issues around some buttons (like Reply to Thread).
Possible bug on some mobile devices with text going out of boxes.

Possibly on the table:
Padding issues between posts.
Truck themed background at the top of the page only where the logo area is.


As to the multiple theme suggestion... we will do everything we can to make this theme acceptable to the majority of the users, but maintaining multiple themes (one mobile, one desktop) is part of the issue we are trying to get away from.

I don't know how it looks using a phone or tablet since I don't like using those devices to surf the web. The look is much better since last night with the changes you have made and I think it is fine.
