The shift defuel is what's others often call " Torque Management".

It's that function in the ECM that does not allow more than 20 Psi boost without wheelspeed detected and defuels during the shifts of the transmission ( Automatic!)

Now they call it " Torque Management" but in reality it's just a trigger of the torque management. The shift defuel ( sorry for the lack of a better term ) is the trigger that's pulled when you boost launch and you can't build more than 20 Psi without wheelspeed.

The " shift defuel " in " OFF " disables that trigger but the downside is ( for now, have to do more R&D) that the shift light indicator on the dash is turned off also. Maybe after all that's not a bad thing, remainds you that your transmission is on borrowed time... I would not use it for daily driving not even with a buit transmission.
If you have ears... . listen!

Not even with a built transmission!?! That sounds awesome to me!!! I wanna see if I can break the ATS.

S-03 first, then S-04, Guess we will wait to whiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnne!

Thanks Marco/Bob. Good programs, come to those... . who are patient !!!

Really, not ready to change my software, the 411 is the best towing software to date, can't imagine the TNT will help egt's. Am I wrong?

Jess

LOL :)

Just a guess, but you might know when the volume (B&W) around the VP44 hushes down.

The new options seem nice!

Jim

And considering how long we've been waiting for the VP44 model modifications (2 years), might be waiting a while... ... ... ... ... .....

does the present software have rail pressure changes in it? i didnt think it did. so, does that mean the REVO software will be the first to offer a rail pressure increase? i have been running the April 2007 S06 software for a while now, and i just changed to the Dec 13 software. what changes were made in that period of time? this truck has an afterm. turbo and stock injectors.

I for one Love the VP44 Smarty! With a serial #00008 on the back I have been running it as long as anyone. With each update it has become more refined, smoother, and stronger on top end. I look forward to new updates! Good job Marco!

I am jealous of the CR and how easily HP is to get out of them. If and when a 6. 7 Smarty is available it might push me over the edge to buy a new Megacab or a 2009 DRW!

REVO Rocks! I should have some dyno #'s up by mid week! The RP and timing adjustments are very nice, no need for the puck anymore.

I think my serial # might be #20 and im happy with it, but I dont see any power enhancement updates that would have done anything to make the ho engines with 6spds smoother. There have been three software changes, but have those changes done anything to the actual catcher software?

WOW, I can't believe what I just read. Updates for the vp smarty. Had to check the dates of the thread twice, just to make sure it wasn't from 2 years ago.

Right! There have NOT been any performance enhancements to the S03 (VP44) Smarty software - only some feature changes.

Read more than the dates. There are no performance improvements for the S03 (VP44) Smarty.

Marco only said that the VP44 was next on the list after the 6. 7.

Have you guys tried the VP updates? There was a very noticeable difference in the upper RPM's and it is easier to control smoke. At least it was better for me!:-laf

I think it'll be another 2 years till we git an update. But I don't drive my truck as much as I used to so I guess I can wait some more. I really don't care if we don't git more power, I'd just like to see low end smoke cut. And, yes I do have the latest update. Couldn't tell a difference.
