Just a thought but have you ever dropped or moved you fuel tank? I looked for a very annoying squeak for over a year. Couldn't be sure where it came from. Looked at my maintenance log when I replaced a fuel sending unit and thought I'd take a look at the tank position. Sure enough moving the tank fully forward did the trick. Part of the tank was rubbing on the rear cab panel and sending noise everywhere.

i have had it out a few times. i will look at that tonight when i get off work!

Hold the gear selector up slightly and if that stops it lube the shift linkage

I have tried this and its a no go. dang i want to find it. i am starting to think its the cracked dash under the cover. but i did jb weld all the cracks to one another.....

OK well after lots of aggregation I found it. It’s the steering shaft under the hood. The rag joint it worn. i put a little pb blaster on it and bam it was quiet again. I will be replacing this shaft with the one from genos very soon.

Im probably not getting the same noise that you are then. The noise my truck makes is more of a hollow sounding rattle. But, I think I will check out the steering shaft anyways. Just how did you determine it was the steering shaft ? Were you able to reproduce the noise by someone turning the wheel ?

Well I was on my way home from work yesterday and it was the last straw. When I got home I jacked the truck up and supported the back end with 2 jack stands as close to the rear bumper as I could. Then I took the jack and a small block of wood and jacked up the front of the truck using the cross member. I then began to rock the truck back and forth making sure to flex the frame. I could hear the noise but barely and I was not sure ifit was the same but I had my guesses. I then took my automotive stethoscope like this one Wilmar Automotive Stethoscope (W80582) and drove around putting it on different things in the truck trying to hear the squeak. There is a little grey screw under the steering wheel and I put it on there and what did I hear very clearly? That squeak! I came home put the PB Blaster on the rag joint and went for another test drive and what did I hear this time? Not a sound. :)
