Which state is best? (moneywise, re: taxes, etc.)

Our clairvoyant president

Nother one,Bosses that have no sense of humor:eek: Spit their chew on the rugs in the office:mad: Stupid operators that cannot follow simple directions!People that stop in the middle of the street to look at dam flower in someones yard!! Enough for now.

Here's one: people that stop on the interstate to pick flowers in the medians that were planted there by volunteers. They seem to miss the polite signs that ask you not to pick the pretty flowers.

Where reverse is located on my 6-speed. Sorry boys, but whoever makes the 6-speed for Ford got the shift pattern right on this one. Absolutely NO chance of hitting reverse accidentally on that truck.

i do that all the time. i do not carry cash in my wallet. sometimes i have 10-20 dollars, but usually none. at least credit cards are quicker than debit/interac cards. just swipe and sign. none of that swipe, select account, enter pin, wait for approval, approved...

Pet peeves

Gee where do i start :

While Driving my Truck:

1. The moron that does 40 in a 55 mph zone, doesn't signal his/her turns/ pulls out in front of me , crosses the center line,

and any other stupid thing to pi$$ me off. And of yes- tell me my truck is real loud - "well of course it is moron its a diesel - not a Ford"

On my Motorcycle:

1. Tailgate me-pull out in front of me when I'm doing 55mph-

don't signal their turns, cut me off in the parking lot and of course generally pi$$ me off.

At the Store

1. Stand in the middle of the isle and ponder their purchase- just get out of the way So I can get out here. .

Other than that life is grand - its just the morons that make life difficult.

:D ;) :p

I forgot a couple...

People who walk 2 or more abreast and expect me to stop, put my back against the wall to get out of their way so they can walk abreast. This is especially bad in airports when people are trying to walk past the other people who are already walking 2 or more abreast and they all expect me (walking by myself) to get out of their way.

I absolutely will not change my path. They either get out of my way, or just before we collide, I stop and just stand there and make them go around me.

Sorry smokers - but it irks me to see cigarettes flying out car windows. Has anyone here walked down the road and seen all the cigarette butts everywhere? Its trashy. Cigarette butts all over the place in front of doors going into public buildings. My own dad throwing his butts into my flower garden that my wife spends time making look nice. And he thinks its OK to throws his trash in it? A$$hole. I made him pick every d@mn one up and put them in the trash. Those of you smokers who don't put your butts in your ash tray, then throw them in the trash later, that's just plain trashy, sorry. Wait... I'm not sorry. Its discusting to see them all over the ground everywhere you go. Enough ranting.

My number one pet peave is cigarette butts flying out windows and laying all over the place. Also with the same theme, those that open their doors and empty their trash and ash trays out while at stop lights. I saw someone do this in front of me a few years back. It was a long light, so I got out of my car, grabbed a handfull of his trash and butts he just dumped in a pile and deposited it in his lap, through his open window. He apologized and didnt say another word.

My tie for number one pet peave a is when children, of any age, disrespect their parents. By either insulting them, or referring to them or about them in derrogatory ways and words. This especially goes for referring to your father as an A$$hole. It shows little class, and a lack of respect. The only thing worse than that would be to call your mother a B_tch. Either one would bring a good butt kicking from family members in my family.

I agree, but...

sdalton - You don't know my father... or how he treats my mother either, do you? Nuff said.

- JyRO

You are right, I dont know your father, and neither do other members here. . I dont know you personally either. I do know that airing your family matters out here isnt the most tasteful place to do it, considering we do not know all the facts behind your hostilities towards your father. If he doesnt treat your mother right, i. e. beating her, them take care of him, the next time you see him do it. If you dont, or havent done anything about it, then you have no right commenting about it, in any way. If you have done something about it, then wonderful. But you still dont refer to your parents in that manner. Especially in public. This forum is public. Sort of.

Agreed

sdalton - I respectfully agree with you. My family issues would have been better left off the TDR. The level of treatment of my father to my mother luckily doesn't even threatened the realm of physical abuse. So, there has been never been any consideration on my part to respond to it physically either. I'm sorry I ran my mouth (or fingers). No need to explore this family stuff any further.

Jyro. . 100% agree " People who walk 2 or more abreast and expect me to stop, put my back against the wall to get out of their way so they can walk abreast. This is especially bad in airports when people are trying to walk past the other people who are already walking 2 or more abreast and they all expect me (walking by myself) to get out of their way.

My Grandmother raised my Sister and I with manners and to be respectful... I am 6'7" and 350lbs and my wife is also a normal sized person . . we always move out of the way walking. . butttt I have to tell ya one of these days I will not, especially when there are a crowd of younger people walking 5,6,7 wide and daring you not to move... I think my temper will pop and I'll do some bowling

:D

Uh, oh, you got me started! Here's my list:

When our government "loans" billions of dollars of our tax money to some backwards country and then tells them they don't have to pay it back.

Elected representatives who have lost sight of the fact that they're supposed to REPRESENT their constituents.

A criminal justice system that protects the criminals more than the victims. It's becoming illegal for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their property. We need to get back to the ways of "frontier justice". How many millions of our tax money will be spent on trying the snipers for each one of their crimes in each state (Maryland, Virginia, etc)? Just take them out to the nearest field and shoot them!

Greedy housing developers who mow down a forest and put up a bunch of houses that all look the same and they're all five feet apart. That's happening in my town, and the traffic will be terrible when suddenly there are 1000 more cars on already congested roads. So much for the semi-rural lifestyle. We need "minimum lot size" laws.

You guys & gals have pretty much covered the driving pet peeves for me. When I finish school in August I will be saying goodbye to truck driving. However, I would like to add one, and that's drivers who violate the pedestrian crosswalk laws. Every night after I get off work, I have to cross a busy street to ride the employee bus to the parking lot. NO ONE will stop! There have been many close calls, and one person did get hit a few days ago. Management and employees have asked the airport police to crack down on offenders, but they never do.

On a lighter note:

How about sports interviews on TV? "Um, you know, basically, um, like, we were playing to win today. Like, we went out there because we wanted to win, you know, and um, basically, um, you know, we wanted to, like, do our best. " I once heard Barry Melrose, when he was the coach for the L. A. Kings, say, "You know, if we score more goals than the other team, we'll win the game. " Wow! Now I know why they pay coaches the big bucks!

Andy

(Hey! I posted this without using any ": mad :" smilies!)

Here's a couple more

Supposably. The correct word is supposedly with NO F#^*%#@ letter b in the whole word!

Texas only:

New Braunsfels

Any map or other publication has the spelling as New Braunfels. Only one dam s in the name!

I don't want to even get in to how bad people butcher town names in Oklahoma. Although, Talequah, Okmulgee, Muskogee, Oolagah and Gotebo can be a little tough for those who didn't grow up there. :D

TWO more...

The word is "Peripheral", not "periphial". As in "peripheral vision. "

I think I hear more people pronounce this wrong than right.

I wish people would learn the difference between TO, TWO and especially TOO when writing. A quick lesson:

"I went TO the ice cream stand and bought TWO cones because my wife came with me TOO. They started to melt immediatly because it was TOO hot outside. "

Some people are unlearnable...

Those unlearnable people out there who stall call it and write it as a Cummings engine. ;)
