Things to check/replace before installing engine

I am putting a used engine into my truck. I wanted to see if there is anything I should replace before installing? The engine came out of a 03 truck with 120,000 miles on it. I have not picked the engine up yet, so I don't know if there are any signs of leakage, etc. I was just curious if I should go through anything now, before the engine is installed? Thanks

I'd definately put a new rear main seal in it while i had it out. Just my 2 cents. .

Yea, I was thinking that, but every time I've replaced these in the past (on different engines, never a cummins) they've leaked after replacement. But now is the best time to do it. Any tricks to replacing it or just pull the old one out and put the new one in? Thanks

Mine was a felpro gasket and they come with a guide or cone that goes around crankshaft and a seal driver as well. Pretty much makes it a simple install with damaging your seal. .
